"We prefer this hotel to Dockside, which is almost identical but Surfside is a bit smaller and quieter. Check in was easy, friendly staff. Free bus transport to all Universal parks. Easy pick up spot if using Uber. Walkable to shops and restaurants. The family suites are great when traveling with larger parties. Has small fridge, microwave, kitchen table. Only complaints is the coffee maker makes single cups using a prefilled coffee sack. Didn’t look appetizing. There is a Starbucks in lobby but I’d prefer to brew my own. There is very little clothing storage. Three drawers total, a small open closet without shelves, and some low hooks on the wall to hang things. Luggage can fit under the bed. Would not be great for a long stay but managed for 2 nights. Bathroom was basic but fine. Lobby was FREEZING every time I walked in, regardless of the time of day. Cafe was nice, good choices, priced fair. Pool was also nice, pretty warm, plenty of seating. Staff brought us additional pillows and blankets when requested. Housekeeping did a great job while we were out at parks. It’s a convenient stay if you’re doing a Universal vacation and prefer to travel without a private car."
