8/10 Good
"Generally I liked the pub. The downside was that hot food isn't available on Sunday evenings. There's not really much choice either, so I had to go to the nearby Chinese restaurant. Also cooked breakfasts aren't provided."

 The Pheasant Hotel, Holt, Norfolk

The Pheasant Hotel, Holt, Norfolk

10/10 Excellent
"We stayed two nights in a very well appointed room which, despite being right next to the kitchen, was quiet and peaceful. The staff were, without exception, warm and friendly and other guests we spoke to, who were regular visitors to the chain, were very complimentary about all of the hotels. The grounds were a delight to walk in and the whole hotel a pleasure. If I were to criticise anything, it would be that I had to ask morning coffee to be made stronger and that my wife’s special diet meals were unimaginative. They met the brief, but were bland and boring. Nevertheless, we will definitely return as it was both a wonderful stay and convenient for us visiting a friend in Holt."

"Room was clean. Bathroom was very tired though. We did use the swimming pool area and the changing rooms were filthy, needs a good clean and refurb. Staff were lovely and location perfect, 10 minute walking distance into the seaside town. We would stay again but maybe bit over priced for what it is."

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Morston?
The best area to stay in Morston is directly in the village itself, particularly around the Quay and the main road, Quay Road.Morston is a small, picturesque coastal village in North Norfolk, primarily known for its Quay, which is the departure point for seal-watching trips to Blakeney Point. The village is compact, with most of its amenities, including a top pub and a few holiday cottages, clustered along Quay Road, leading directly to the water's edge. It's a quiet area, great for a relaxing escape.Couples looking for a tranquil retreat will find Morston ideal. The village offers a peaceful setting with immediate access to coastal walks and the popular boat trips. You can enjoy strolls along the Quay, take in the views over the marshes, and dine at the local pub without needing to drive. For those who appreciate nature and a slower pace, staying in Morston provides easy access to the Norfolk Coast Path and birdwatching opportunities.
When is the best time to go to Morston?
The best time to visit Morston is typically during the warmer months, from late spring (May) through early autumn (September). This period offers the most pleasant weather for exploring the Norfolk coast and enjoying outdoor activities. The days are longer, and temperatures are generally mild, making it ideal for boat trips to see the seals, coastal walks, and exploring the surrounding villages. You'll find most local attractions, like the National Trust Morston Quay, operating at their full schedule during these months. For those interested in wildlife, particularly the seal colonies, the pupping season in late autumn and winter (November to January) can also be a special time. While colder, you'll witness hundreds of seal pups on the sandbanks. Many boat trips still run during this period, but it's essential to dress warmly. If you prefer a quieter experience and don't mind cooler temperatures, the shoulder months of April and October can be excellent.
