Pearl Cottage, Cotswold Cottage sleeping 5 people in 3 bedrooms

  • Pearl Cottage is set within the beautiful village of Blockley in The Cotswolds. Built in 1837, this pretty Cotswold Stone cottage forms part of a short terrace of four houses called Albert Cottages, each of which benefit from unique, semi-circular topped windows. Renovated in 2016, Pearl Cottage is both luxurious and comfortable and has been tastefully decorated with many stylish touches, whilst still retaining its original character and charm. There is a beautiful light and bright living room that benefits from a stone fireplace with a welcoming wood burning stove, plenty of comfortable seating and a SMART HD TV. The fully equipped modern kitchen/diner is also very light and airy and has been fitted with an electric range cooker, dishwasher, fridge, microwave, washing machine and dryer. It also benefits from solid oak flooring, a dining table and French doors that open onto a sunny private garden.

    A welcome pack containing teabags, sugar, a pint of milk and in the winter months a small amount of kindling, firelighters and logs for your first night is provided.

    The village shop is just a 5 minute walk away where you can stock up during your stay.

Lovely cottage great location

Blockley is a lovely village and the cottage is charming. Very well equipped and comfy but could do with a shower mat to stop slips, also blackout curtains or blinds would be great when we have a summer like this when the sun shines from 4.30am. Stairs are not straight and, as it says in the blurb, not suitable for anyone with mobility issues. We are late 60's/early 70's with medical issues and the cottage was perfect for us. Would definitely recommend and would stay here again if we come this way.

Comfortable stay

The cottage is very comfortable and spacious, especially the kitchen. Super clean. Comfy bed. Decent shower. No allocated parking but we arrived on a Friday, early afternoon, and got parked right outside the property. Stunning views to the rear of the property. Location is perfect for all the village amenities, and plenty of walks on the doorstep.

A super place to stay

Pearl Cottage was delightful. First, its location in Blockley is excellent. A short stroll to the famous Blockley cafe and to the Great Western Arms, all within a characterful Cotswold village well worth exploring. The cottage was both spacious and characterful, designed and decorated extremely tastefully and attractively with modern kitchen equipment and comfortable, quality furnishings. We were delighted with the place which proved a very good base for exploring the Northern Cotswolds (either on foot or by car). We were able to visit several of the well-known show gardens in the area: Kiftsgate, Bourton House, Sezincote and Snowshill to name just some. We almost managed to bump into a film crew at one of these venues, shooting a scene for the Father Brown TV series!
