"le loueur est un homme charmant qui a des choses très intéressantes à raconter sur son amours des chevaux. Le gite est d'une propreté impeccable et dans un endroit isolé mais à un quart d'heure des courses et une demi-heure de la sous préfecture où il y a tout ce qu'on veut y compris cinéma, théâtre, manifestations festives et culturelles etc.. le hic ce sera la canicule qui ne relève pas de la responsabilité du propriétaire! "Pros: We hebben een fantastische vakantie gehad bij Vincent en Marianne. Vanaf het eerste moment voelden we ons ontzettend welkom. Het zijn lieve, gastvrije mensen die werkelijk voor je klaarstaan. Zo gastvrij zijn we nog niet vaak ontvangen. Het huis was prachtig en zelfs veel groter dan we hadden verwacht. Het heerlijke terras met het mooie uitzicht was echt genieten. "**Les points positifs : maison très propre, literie agréable, climatisation dans toutes les pièces (très appréciable avec 42 C), étage récemment rénové (2 chambres, salle de bain et WC) et parking public juste à côté.**Les points négatifs : importante déception entre l’annonce, présentée comme « maison de charme », et la réalité. Une grande partie de la maison est restée très datée (années 60-70) : interrupteurs, poignées, carrelages, portes-fenêtres, volets très abîmés et menuiseries...

Proximité d’une route bruyante Lits non faits pour 12,00/pers Pas de climatisation dans la maison que des appareils rafraîchissant, mais même pas un par chambre. Le propriétaire le sait mais ne le précise pas dans son annonce. Lave-vaisselle trop petit pour 14 personnes et fonctionne mal. Il manque beaucoup de vaisselle. Chaises pliantes inconfortables Terrasse, mal éclairée Balles de baby-foot et ping-pong...

"A beautiful place to stay, decorated tastefully and not overdone. My room was very attractive and although the mattress was firmer than I am used to I slept well. My view was over the valley but view from rooms facing this old village would also have been attractive. Efficient air conditioning greatly! Although small the garden was well maintained, as was the pool, and very quiet even at a busy weekend. Lovely sound of the water fall in the pool. Due to problems with my flights I arrived around 22.00 but was made very welcome and a tray of cold meats and cheese brought to my room despite the late hour. Much appreciated. My stay was brief but I would love to return and would happily recommend the hotel to my friends and family. In fact I have already done so! Many thanks to the hotel staff for salvaging a challenging weekend for me."

"Excellent service on arrival. The staff member provided information to us on the local area and discounts we can receive for eating at their recommended restaurant. The hotel is on a retail park, on the outskirts of the town but the shops and eateries are worth a visit. The room was basic, but clean, this was expected. The shower and basin is in the bedroom which was inconvenient when other members of the family were visiting the room. Breakfast was a basic continental offering."

"We had a fantastic stay at the Hôtel de France in Bergerac and couldn't recommend it more highly. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel completely at home. Special mention must go to the gentleman who checked us in — he was friendly, helpful and welcoming from the very first moment, nothing was too much trouble, and he gave us brilliant tips on the local area. It's rare to receive such a genuinely warm welcome, and it set the tone for our whole stay. The rest of the staff were equally lovely — always smiling, always happy to help, and clearly proud of their hotel. The room was comfortable and spotless, and the location is perfect for exploring Bergerac's beautiful old town, just a short stroll away. We left feeling like we'd been looked after by friends rather than staff. We'll definitely be back — thank you to the whole team, and especially to the gentleman on reception!"

"We’ve just returned from an absolutely fantastic stay and would highly recommend this house.The pool is the absolute highlight. The photos really don’t do it justice — it is huge, beautifully maintained and perfect for adults and children, ranging from 0.9m to 2m. It was cleaned every morning.The table tennis table was a brilliant addition, while the three outdoor seating areas gave us options for sun or shade. The outdoor kitchen and BBQ were fantastic. The only small disappointment was that the outdoor oven wasn’t working, but this didn’t affect our enjoyment.Inside, the living area was comfortable and the small but extremely well-stocked kitchen was very well laid out.The two separate wings worked brilliantly and would be ideal for two families. There are plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms, with air conditioning in several bedrooms and hallways. Even at 40C, the villa stayed surprisingly cool.The listing photos appear quite old, as several bedrooms have since been updated, so the house felt more modern than expected. WiFi was excellent, easily handling 7 iPads and 6 phones. It doesn’t reach the pool, but we actually saw this as a positive!The play area could use updating, and two clothes airers were provided instead of a washing line, but neither affected our stay.Importantly, the owners were fantastic — responsive, helpful, kind and never intrusive.We had an amazing family holiday and would happily return. Highly recommended!"
