Charming stone house with terrace overlooking the river

"Beautiful clean gite, perfect for our family holiday.We had a fabulous 2 week holiday. Facilities were just great, pool was a lovely size, and use of bikes and canoes was an added bonus. Host was friendly and helpful and bought us an amazing basket of vegetables from her garden. We definitely go again."

"Absolutely fantastic stay in this wonderful gite. Communication was brilliant all the way through right up to and including letting us know exactly when we could check in. Lovely uninterrupted views across the valley from the private pool and terrace. Plenty of sun and shade to be had in the massive garden. The house is very well equipped and the rooms are huge but very homely, we felt comfortable immediately in this place. Lesley and Pete are great; really friendly and not at all imposing. Location is fantastic, plenty to do in the surrounding area and amenities close at hand but it feels so peaceful and secluded at the property - the absolute best of both worlds. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place to anyone, it really does tick a lot of boxes."

"Ein tolles Haus auf einem großen Grundstück! Der kleine Pool hat uns viel Freude bereitet. Innen alles Top, zu Begrüßung standen ein paar Leckereien bereit. Parkplatz direkt auf dem Grundstück. Wir kamen an und waren begeistert: schöner als auf den Fotos. Ein Bad mit Fenster hat man nicht immer! Eine wirklich brauchbare Küche mit viel Kochplatz. Einzig das Silberbesteck ist gewöhnungsbedürftig, wir vermissten auch kleine Schüsselchen und brauchbare Salatschüsseln. Das hat den Gesamteindruck aber nicht getrügt. Wir können es wirklich sehr empfehlen"

"Notre séjour a véritablement dépassé nos attentes ! Nous avons découvert le charme de la propriété de Dominique et sa famille, la gentille de leur accueil et surtout nous avons pu profiter de tout ce qu’ils avaient à nous offrir pour ce séjour : produits du potager, session canoë et baignade sous les cascades, balades en vélos, nourrissage des ânes et activités non prévues au catalogue ! Bref une semaine de vacances comme on en voudrait toutes les semaines ! Un grand merci !"

"A great house for a large party. We spent most of the time outside - our group (including six children aged 3 to 10) really enjoyed the pool, games room, toy house. The gas barbecue was really helpful and there was loads of cutlery, crockery etc. We also appreciated the generous provision of loo rolls, soap, cleaning stuff, towels etc."

"This is a brilliantly located, comfortably appointed ground floor apartment in a solid town house on the main square in Aubeterre. It is close to all the amenities - shops, cafes, bars, within comfortable walking distance of the beach with its excellent bar and great swimming in the Dronne.The outside space is not attached to the house and is found above the parking place, fifty metres from the house. This made it less useful than it might have been - perhaps a BBQ up there would have made eating outside a possibility!The kitchen was fairly well equipped but there were no instructions for the appliances - the induction hob, the washing machine, the TV. It would have helped to have had a simple guide to how to use these appliances as we spent a bit of time trying to figure it out and had to ask the host how the TV worked!The bedroom and bathroom were really well set up and comfortable. We wondered how it work for two couples with the second bedroom off the first, but we were travelling alone and were able to use the second bedroom as a dressing room.So, overall, we had an enjoyable stay in Aubeterre, right in the heart of the town. If the host addressed some of the issues raised, this would be a five star review."
