"Remember that this is a inner-city location and activity on the streets will be noisy until early mornings. Roof might be a fun place to sleep if you're not scared of bugs, etc. Sanborn's restaurant is 1 block down from the side of the block and is great. Eat there, don't shop. Close to everything. We stayed during Day of the Dead. Attentive & polite owners."

Mexico City (and vicinity) and its attractions for beach lovers

While Mexico City itself is inland and does not boast beaches, nearby coastal getaways like Acapulco and the picturesque towns along the Pacific Coast are just a drive away, offering an enchanting escape for beach lovers. In Acapulco, you can explore the iconic La Quebrada cliff divers, where performers plunge from dizzying heights into the ocean, creating a breathtaking spectacle. The vibrant nightlife and seaside restaurants along the Costera Miguel Alemán are perfect for families looking to savour local cuisine with stunning ocean views. For a more tranquil experience, Puerto Escondido offers beautiful surf beaches, ideal for both seasoned surfers and beginners keen to learn, while also providing opportunities for whale watching during the migration season. If you’re seeking a family-friendly beach, Playa Zicatela caters to all ages with its soft sands and gentle waves, perfect for building sandcastles or swimming. Staying in coastal towns such as these allows for a seamless blend of relaxation and adventure, with hotels that offer direct beach access, stunning ocean views, and attentive service to ensure your family feels pampered throughout your stay.
