"When I arrived at the Butler House, the owner (MK) informed me that it was actually closed for renovations. Expedia had been repeatedly informed of this but continued, nonetheless, to book reservations for guests! MK was very apologetic and offered me accommodation in the camper beside the house. It looked to be very comfortable and roomy, and had a relatively large fridge, so I accepted. Never regretted the decision. It was so quiet and cool in the evenings that I slept very soundly, and the location is totally pastoral and scenic. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. "

"We stayed in this house for two months while we were doing a kitchen renovation, The only reason we stayed is because we had no other options this time of year for a rental that would take pets. We survived because we brought everything we needed from our house. We did not receive any instructions prior to the rental and there were no instructions at the house for check-in and checking out procedures, internet/tv access or information on the local area. We had to contact the host to get the access code to enter and the Wi-Fi codes. The house was not cleaned prior to our arrival, there are broken blinds in every room, missing screens on half the windows, damage to the walls and ceiling, mold on the walls and ceiling, unstable floors, and a toilet that won't refill without reaching into the tank. The house comes with paper plates and plastic silverware and one pot for cooking. During our stay, we caught 4 mice, lost water twice, once for 18 hours, had cleaners show up twice with no prior notice, and two renters arrive who had booked the house at the same time we were there. There is also a lack of ventilation in the house due to missing screens, but fortunately, we were able to bring our own window air conditioners. The owner was prompt when called for the water repairs. If I had come from out of town, I properly would not have stayed one night in the house."
