"Fabulous location with free parking. However room wasn't great for the money they charged. Paying £100 for a very run down basic room was too much. We travel a lot so in comparison to other rooms for the same money I would rate it low. Certainly wouldn't stay again. Didnt try the food so cannot comment on that."

The location is fabulous for exploring Melrose and the cottage is well equipped, warm and spacious inside. I would book again without any hesitation. Really liked the books about the area!"

"Hotel was spotless and generally spectacular. Major issue was not being able to get a lounger at the spa, and when mentioned to the spa staff very little was done to help (there were many loungers not being used, and proper policing would have made this more enjoyable for all) A handful of others had the same experience. Overall, the spa overpromised and under delivered for us, but stay was otherwise flawless"
