I didn’t like arriving at 3:30pm only to find an unclean room! Even after the room was made up, it didn’t smell clean. 😔 I did enjoy the sky bar with it’s views & Jhai’s amazing cocktail creations.🍹

Great location and a lovely room. There was a DJ in the roof bar (Friday night) and my walls were literally vibrating. No wifi password provided, no contact info in room or at the reception desk, general feeling of the hotel component being the lowest priority of the 3 businesses in the building.

When we arrived at the hotel there were stains down the front of the toilet bowl (looked like someone had vomited and it hadn't been cleaned) which raised concerns that the rest of the room hadn't been properly clean especially during COVID time, the toiletries in the shower looked like they had been used and refilled (the tubes were squished and wrinkled) which again, during COVID, should be single use. Blinds in the room were down and were not able to be opened which made it dark and meant we couldn't enjoy the "city view" which was just overlooking the shops below, couldn't actually see the city. Staff at check in seem unprepared and unprofessional with our details only written down on scraps of paper. However, they did clean the toilet once we raised it with them. Hotel was in a good location for our purposes.

In 4 nights the room was not serviced. It had no coffee cups or mini bar despite saying it would. The entrance regularly had food waste and rubbish spread across it. It had a strong rotten smell. There were dance parties in the rooftop bar until 1am on two nights with patrons freely discharging through the hotel floors. The restaurant staff were friendly but had no connection to the hotel.

Good location Friendly staff. Comfortable bed, spacious room. Big, clean bathroom.Roof top bar excellent, lift to rooms. Only negative street noise can be heard - pedestrian crossing beeps etc- not ideal if a light sleeper but probably depends on which room is allocated.

Staff were disorganised and look unkempt. We were treated like an inconvenience. Although clean, the room was dishevelled. BAck entrance to hotel was dirty. Couldn't find were to leave the key at checkout and no one was around to speak to, Would not stay here again.

Clarendon’s a keeper
The Clarendon provided probably the most comfortable bed and room we’ve had in a long time and it was also super quiet (despite a bar 2 floors up). The staff were fabulous and the location amazing considering the 12 tram goes right by and takes in many Melbourne areas. Stylish and special.

The rooms were huge! Both ensuites, veey clean, the staff were lovely and an overall posh look to a buildimg that doesnt eveb look like a hotel from the outside !

Exactly what we needed for the night
Nicely appointed clean room with lovely bathroom facilities. Friendly staff greeted us upon arrival. Check in and out was simple. Great location - exactly what we needed!

Very impressed with the comparison of the star rating against the actual place. Clean comfortable and quiet. The only irritating thing about the stay would be the elevator. It didn’t go to the hotel lobby exit, one floor below the restaurant.

We loved this beautiful old pub, had a lovely stay. Could walk to most places. Staff very friendly and helpful room very roomy and comfortable. Will definitely stay here again.

Really great room in an excellent location. Bed was comfortable and water pressure in the shower is amazing, just like sitting under a waterfall. We were a bit concerned the noise from the restaurant downstairs and bar on the rooftop would keep us up but the rooms are very well soundproofed so no issue at all.

This property is very well located and excellent condition. A little bit noisy with music but added to the experience and stopped early enough that did not disturb us

Nice accom except Someone was smoking in a room near us and it was all through our air. We had to open windows to try and clear it out. But it was constant.

Comfy at Clarendon
Fantastic bed and clean & tidy room, and what a perfect location- South Melbourne market is in the next block, so many cafes around you, a roof top bar on site and a tram stop at the door! The staff were very helpful, I would certainly stay here again. I had one problem in reading the hotel information sheet it says check out by 12pm, but the keycard deactivated at 11am - so I recommend the sheet is updated with the correct info.
