Medellín has really figured out public transportation. This is the tranvia, one of the city's newest lines. For less than a dollar it will take you smoothly and quietly into the eastern part of the city. From there you can take a cable car into the hills, or walk back past some amazing street art.
At the top of Nutibarra Hill in Medellin is Pueblito Paisa, a replica of a turn of the century town that offers a glimpse into historical Antioquian villages.

Such an impressive mall. With the heat that we struggled to adapt to in Medellin, we often found ourselves seeking out the comfort of air conditioned malls. Centro is an area to steer clear, lots of drug use in this area from the homeless population which seems concentrated here. Saw people walking with syringes and also smoking pipes in middle of the street in broad daylight.

Medellin is a beautiful city with a great public transport system. It's wonderful to see trains that have not been vandalised and young people who actually respect the elderly and give up their seats or help them onto the train!
