  • Book with confidence!!! This is our newly listed 2nd vacation home in Massanutten! We created our 1st one in 2017, and it's been a success, with over 300 - 5 star reviews. We haven't changed a thing. Same great accommodations and excellent service!!!

    Nestled in the heart of Massanutten Resort, is a superb chalet called "The Pistachio Nut"" Our chalet is located in a great location and is close to either the ski slopes or the water park. Its situated on a quiet street for privacy and relaxation.

Amazing home and great host

Great Mountain House

Our family came to the area to visit Shenandoah National Park. This was a great place to stay toward the middle of the park that had beautiful drives in every direction. The house was very clean and our kids LOVED the game room!

A great getaway!

This was a lovely property! We really enjoyed our stay. The kitchen is a great size. The deck is a nice place to sit and take in nature, I even had a chipmunk come up to me. The place is very well kept and the owner is very friendly!

Everything here matches the description and photos exactly, Michael is a great host. The house is fantastic.: very clean, the main room is very cozy and the beds are comfortable. Bath towels are super soft! Will definitely be staying here again in the future.

We had such a wonderful trip and stay at the Pistachio Nut. Michael was super helpful and welcomed us to show us around. This is better than any other rental you will find, hands down. Not just for the arcade room which will blow you away. We will definitely stay there again.

Loved our stay at The Pistachio Nut

Had a great experience staying at The Pistachio Nut. Mike, the owner, was friendly and easy to communicate with. I had a couple questions before our trip, and they were answered very timely. The house itself was very nice. Clean, comfortable, had everything we needed. Loved the arcade room. We were there for a JMU graduation, and it was an easy distance to campus. Highly recommend!

BEST VRBO Experience - Beautiful and spacious property!!

Cannot give enough stars to this property and property owner! The home is spotless, newly renovated, and very spacious. Property owner had so many thoughtful provisions throughout the home that were perfect. Easy check-in/out steps too. Such a beautiful area with so many things to see/do and only 15-20 minutes to Harrisonburg/JMU.

Perfect stay

We had a great stay at the Pistachio Nut. Mike was a helpful, welcoming host. The house well super well equipped with nice linens. We loved the game room and the size was perfect for our family of 5. Easy for trips back and forth to JMU for move in and we were also able to take advantage of some of the mountain activities. Will definitely look to stay here the next time we visit.

Great stay!

We had the best time at the pistachio nut. This was probably one of the cleanest properties we’ve ever stayed at. Beds were comfy, kitchen was fully stocked and the arcade was a blast. The property manager did meet us and gave us a tour before heading off. It was actually very nice and he was an extremely pleasant individual. We will definitely be back next year!

House is pretty great. Kitchen is well stocked, even bottled water in the fridge. Bed was very comfortable. Main living are was cozy and very nice. Game room downstair was so cool. The house was very clean and Michael was very nice and informative. I would highly recommend staying here.

Relaxing weekend getaway

The Pistachio Nut was a great location for our family to get together for an event at James Madison University. The property was immaculate and comfortable and our adult kids loved the video games. This was not our first visit to Massanutten but we would definitely return. The owners were easy to communicate with and very helpful. Highly recommended.

Cozy, quiet and clean

Our stay at Pistachio Nut was fantastic! Check in was easy, the house is nice and clean. Mike made us felt welcomed. The amenities and fully equipped kitchen provided were superb! The location is great, located in Massanutten Resort but not too far from the main road. We enjoyed the arcade games with our little guy! Overall, it is a great place and I highly recommend it!

Amazing visit

First of all let me just say that the property was immaculate, inside and out! We received a warm welcome from Mike who gave us a detailed tour of the property. There was an attention to detail, right down the the condiments in the cupboards. The location was very convenient to a number of eateries and scenic spots. I would highly recommend this property if you’re looking for a clean, spacious place to stay.

Great Weekend Stay!

We had a wonderful long weekend at the Pistachio Nut. The owner Mike lives next door and is very helpful and can answer any questions you have about the house or surrounding Area. He was able to make some great diner suggestions to celebrate my MIL birthday. The arcade was a hit and has all the classics- my son was in heaven. The home has so many special touches and is very clean and you can tell they have put a lot of time and love into making sure you have everything you need. The kitchen is equipped with all you could need and even had bottle water, seasonings and coffee for us to use. The bathrooms were stocked with items you may have forgotten which was so nice! We felt so at home and can’t wait to return.

Magical mountain retreat

Mike's "Pistachio Nut' was awesome. The house was very clean, and we loved the game room down stairs. It had many of the popular video games my wife and I played in the 80's. The outside gas firepit was a nice feature we enjoyed. We are already looking at our schedule for next fall to book the "Pistachio Nut" again. Thanks again Mike for your magical mountain retreat.

Dukes Graduation

Beautiful and clean everything inside and outside seem to be newly remodeled, the location couldn't be any better for our commute to JMU for the graduation events and all others members in our group to do other activities in the immediate area. I highly recommend the Pistachio Nut if you are looking for R&R and or some Adventure. Loved it!!!!!
