Upon arriving at the facility my wife and I decided that there was NO WAY we would stay there. Property was a mess externally, building in need of repair. Frankly - it seemed like a house one might meet someone from Elm Street ... a real nightmare. We could not bring ourselves to even get out of our vehicle to check it out. Made a reservation at a hotel in Kerrville (another 66 miles away). On a 1 to 5 star rating I would give this one a -5.

Amazing!!!
This was the cutest little apartment. Quiet, amazing air conditioning, beds very comfortable, and there were cookies! Our hostess made sure we were welcome the moment we got here. We enjoyed watching the stars from the star gazing tubs and painting off the river rocks. And the decorations inside are so fun for the kids to look at. This was a wonderful experience.

wonderful
Very nice stay the hostess told us about the restaurants around town and other attractions. Kitchenette was well stocked. Bathroom had all of the needed supplies. The atmosphere reminded you of the old west(covered wagon, lassos, etc). Very artsy environment. we will go back.

We were greeted by Bridget with a warm and friendly personality. Inside, there was a tiny covered wagon with candy to eat, and delcious cookies waiting for us. Everything was very clean. The covered wagon bed was very comfortable, pillows nice and soft, plenty of blankets, and fun stuff to do. Board game, Dvd's, books to read, and you could even paint some rocks. It was extremely quite and pleasant. A great experience.

The stay was just for the night. Somewhere to get some rest. As we arrived we weren’t sure if we were in the right place. Cell service is bleak. That’s when we saw a sign with our name on it. That was very neat. Once we pulled in we were greeted by Bridget and given a tour. It was a really nice experience. Would recommend for a couple.

The entire apt. Was so unique down to sleeping in a covered wagon! But the owner Bridget was so friendly and hospitable. We became instant friends.

A great place to spend a few days exploring the local area. Effort was made to give the accommodations an old time western flair. Kitchen was equipped with a stove, oven, microwave, toaster, Keurig, cooking and serving utensils, plates, bowls, glasses and cups.

The place is unique in that it has a certain theme. The covered wagon as a bed was enough to win us over. Everything was organized. Drawers were labeled so you didn't have to spend time going through each drawer. If you want to stargaze, there's an option to see the stars in the back. Very romantic. Very quiet place. Not to mention cool AC, free WiFi and Cable TV, and cookies to greet you when you first arrive. We've got a winner here folks! Ms. Bridget is a great hostess! Mason is just filled with lots of smiles as everyone is so friendly and approachable. If you're looking to stop by Mason, Covered Wagon B&B should be your home away from home. Thanks!

Unique and quaint covered wagon guesthouse
Check in was easy and room was ready allowing us to check in early! Very welcoming and a great place to stay in a quiet neighborhood that close to the town square. The covered wagon bed is unique and something memorable to experience!

The owner was very friendly and welcoming. Nice quiet weekend. The place was everything we expected. The girls loved sleeping in the covered wagon bed. She even had a bowl of my daughters favorite cookies!

While our experience was good, room clean, cozy, comfy with an amazing porch, there were a couple of issues for us, which we believe could be remedied without too much expense. While the bed was unique, and ok for my husband, the mattress was alittle uncomfotable for me because it sagged some, pulling me to middle. It also moved and hit the wall with any moment, and because I was uncomfortable, it moved quite often, hitting the wall and waking my husband. There are sandbags blocking the wheels, but we think if the bed was moved a couple inches from wall - it would have been great. It appeared the host put a lot of thought and effort in assuring every possible need could be met, having plenty of supplies on hand without losing any of the ambience of the guesthouse. We hope to return to the Covered Wagon Guesthouse, as it has a lot to offer. The list of amenities included free breakfast, which is something I look for when choosing a place, and the host left us fresh baked cookies, cereal and milk, and granola bars...that was disappointing because I was expecting breakfast and not a continental style breakfast....but, fresh cookies was an amazing touch.

The bed is a wagon!
This is an AMAZING B&B. If you have ANY reason to be in Mason, TX this is the place. Friendly host, great decor, chemical free environment, snacks & breakfast. Also the bed is a wagon, where else can you possibly find that.

Covered Wagon in Mason TX
We stayed at the Covered Wagon in Mason, on 4/1. We were in town for the Castell Grind cycling race. The Covered Wagon was perfect... 15 miles away. Clean, quiet, comfortable and close.. Check-in and check-out was simple. The place was well stocked with snacks, coffee, etc and the full kitchen was nice. We will definately have this on our short list for next year's race. Wish we had more time to look around Mason. Thank You!
