"The host was very easy to communicate with. She greeted us when we arrived. She was great. The house is very beautiful inside and out, the view was amazing. It is very clean inside. The only issue is the way to the house is very difficult to get to. We drove up on a hill that had a lot of bumpy roads and a lot of garbage. Keep in mind if you stay here that once you go out, try to do all of your outings because it’s hard to go back and forth to the house."

"The property was beautiful and offered great views and even had a small private pool. The space was welcoming and large, perfect for a small family! We do recommend the resort, especially during hot months, to have the AC units serviced appropriately as there aren’t many close dining options so most meals are prepared in the home, and no AC in the kitchen was miserably hot. We did have a difficult time after check in to get in touch with the resort to arrange transportation in a timely manner....

"Loved it!!!! The hotel was delightful , staff was very helpful and pleasant, the beache , absolutely stunning the blue water and white sand and the waterpark was my favorite part. Lemore the lifeguard was very helpful and gave me some good insight on what to do in Jamaica. The excursions were fantastic , Dunn River Falls a must, although I’d be very careful walking up those water falls, I loved mystic mountain and the Luminous excursion, amzing. My view of the ocean was fantastic as well. Highly recommend this hotel!"

"This was a last minute trip. As a travel agent I look to see how the service an amenities measure up. I thought the property was very clean and well maintained. The people were friendly and the pool entertainment encourages socializing. Only one restaurant was not good both with food and service (the Indian restaurant) . I thought the entertainment at night was good and the beach party was great. The pool And beach are well maintained. It’s really not Close to much in terms of outside activities which was fine for me. The drinks were good but only premium club had the better liquor. And you could tell as the drinks seemed a bit watered down. I did take advantage of the gym for two days. It was adequate but some of thr equipment was very outdated."

"Beautiful property, very clean and modern. The atmosphere was great, with good vibes, great music, and a full bar. The bartender, Ravario, was amazing 10/10! We had a great time at the pool with him. Overall, it was an amazing stay, and I would definitely visit again"

"From the moment you enter The Retreat, you know you’re in for something special. The front lawns are nicely manicured and you are greeted by the security staff who welcome you to your holiday home. Upon entering the property, there is a spacious entry hall with doors that lead out on to the fabulous verandah. The verandah is where you’ll spend most of your time. It’s large, covered and has excellent views over the Martha Brae river below and the valley beyond. The views are private with no overlooking and you’ll see green trees and bushes to the horizon. We visited after the Cat 5 Hurricane and, sadly some of the trees in the foreground have died. But actually, nature has done a good job of clearing some of the dense growth and the trees have a magical, silver quality to them, which changes colour with the position of the sun. Darker in the morning and much brighter by afternoon. That the house itself was damage-free is testament to the quality of the build. There is a beautiful, wooden table on the veranda with enough seating for 12 people. Perfect for alfresco dining. You also look down onto the lovely pool area. It is very well maintained and clean. Back to the house, whilst there are some signs of age and a need for small renovation projects, the fixtures and furnishings are all in good order. The sofas are comfortable and clean. The beds are very comfortable throughout and the pieces of furniture are works of art. The wall art is exquisite. The housekeeping is excellent."
