My first visit to Istanbul and it was quite an eye opener. There are hundreds of tiny hotel/ pension-type places in the tiny back roads of this very busy city. I was lucky in choosing the Amada Hotel as it was a quaint but deceptively big property. My room was adequate with lovely polished floors and traditional style wall coverings. From the window I could look over one of the old city walls to the harbouer beyond. Breakfast was included in the price - buffet style on a lovely roof-topp terrace with a view of the ocean on one side and the amazing blue mosque on the other. Property is walking distance from a light rail station. I found the metro fairly easy to use and probably the best way to and from the airport.

Super friendly and helpful staff, room and generally around the hotel nice and clean. Great view from the restaurant.
I wouldn't say this felt like a 5* hotel, maybe a 4* and location made it difficult to get cabs.

We had the best experience staying in the hotel. It is very clean, staff is helpful, breakfasts are excellent! Hotel location is very good, too. Lots of restaurants, shopping, and good views nearby.
