Beautifully designed building! Staff were all super friendly! There is no hot water for my shower for or five days. There was loud music or soccer game playing into the night three of the eight days I was there but no louder than most Latin American hotels/countries. Overall, I do highly recommend The Poseidon!!!

Horrible experience my flight was delayed, so they decided to cancel my reservation on not give me back my money. You can call their phone number and they will never pick up.

The room and the communal ares were clean. Breakfast was very good with fruit, cereal, bread, cheese, and 3 hot options. I would have preferred to see shampoo and conditioner dispensers in the shower rather than little bottles. The minibar was not restocked with the 3 (free) soft drink options despite me asking and the coffee and sugar were also not topped up daily. I would have expected better bearing in mind the amount paid for the room. Minor issues but overall a pleasant stay and all the staff I encountered were very pleasant and accommodating.

Nasty smell of ocean & nasty beach.
This hotel is a 1 STAR. 8 days of HELL. Hard beds, discolored off white towels, NO WASHRAGS AT ALL, very little if any toiletries NO LOTION OR BODYWASH, the nasty dead fish smell from the beach you can't swim in. Dirty dark-black sand & crud on the beach. Very very rocky. At low tide you are reassured not ever to enter the water by this hotel. We had to keep the glass doors closed to block both the mosquitoes (lots of them) flies and the nasty smell. Off spray barely worked. We got eaten alive. Room was not cleaned properly they are not up to standards of Covid cleaning at all. I bought my own bleach cleaners and Lysol Santizers for the bedding. We used our own towels. The breakfast just ok. Thanks to Juan Carlos. Don't waste your $s here. We will try the Wyndham next door & travel to other towns for better beaches nxt time we visit Manta The only bright star was Selena at the front desk. She was so pleasant and welcoming everyday. That guy in the evening never spoke to us.

Dear Mrs. Peterkin, we are really concern about your message, and also surprised. Because, the Housekeeping in our hotel works, constantly to keep all areas and overstay rooms, clean and sanitized with ozone, which is a gas producing a deep cleaning and every corner of the room including objects, beds, furniture and surfaces and if you had required any replacement of our amenities you had let us know, happily we had offer to you a replacement. Our standard has beeing recognized, because of our beds, regarding size and comfort. We are really sorry that you haven't had the experience you were looking at the beach, but as you are able to red in our hotel description we offer beach sightseeing, our hotel is a boutique and exclusive, but also we mention that the nearest swimming beach is Murcielago, which is few minutes away with taxi or walking distance. We thank you for the comments, because this is a chance to improve. Unfortunately, we can't change the nature or the beach in front of our hotel. We offer a privat, artificial Sand beach where you are able to enjoy a Sunbath, but we do not recommend the natural beach. The room where you were hosted is one of the best that we offer, with private balcony to enjoy the view. By you next stay we will very happy to offer you an Room-upgrade. Hotel Poseidon was a disappointment that was not worth the approximately $120/night we paid, for many reasons including staff issues, maintenance issues, and facility quality. Upon arriving we were not greeted by the staff. Despite visibly struggling to carry our bags, we were never offered help. After alerting the staff to our presence, we had a chilly/not-friendly check-in and were offered a room on the ground floor with a view of a concrete wall. This was disappointing as the hotel as the hotel did not seem full. We were never offered help getting our luggage to our room. The room itself was ok, but not worth $120/night. Overnight, we discovered the air conditioning had major maintenance issues which meant it shut off every 30 minutes or so, blinking brightly over the bed and causing the room to become very hot. It was too late to call for a repair. The rest of the room was ok, not great. We decided to try and have a few drinks by the pool. Again, we had a chilly reception. After ordering we provided a server our room number and verified it along with my name on the computer, leading us to believe the drinks were being put on our account that we would pay upon check out. Later, as we started to leave, a server abruptly stopped us saying we needed to pay now as we didn’t have a card on file (or something similar). That’s understandable, though we felt like he felt we were trying to dine and dash. Bottom line: Skip Poseidon. Stay at the Oro Verde or similar.

I checked on after a 7 hour drive based on accessibility. The hotel is nice but the ramps are steep difficult to get to beach as a use a walker. Staff in the bar were inattentive and the night waiter was rude

Beautiful hotel. Service was great. Staff was amazing, very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was delicious. I needed a conference room to meet with my siblings and the staff was able to accommodate my needs at the last minute. I would stay here again and recommend the hotel to my friends, family or anyone traveling to Manta, Ecuador

Great seafood dishes at the hotel
Very clean and comfortable beds. Very quiet. Great view of the ocean. One negative- no sand beach. You can walk the rock beach at low tide and see many different sea creatures in tide pools.

Breathtaking views
The hotel is super nice, located in the best area of Manta. Staff are friendly, the rooms are the best, the view, the pool, are the most attractive part. The only thing to be taken in consideration is that even though the hotel has private beach this beach is not for swimming or walking, if you want to enjoy the beach you will need to take a taxi so they can take you to one of the public ones. 10 mins drive. $2 each ride. No bad at all

We went to Manta for 2 days, at first we chose a not sea view room, when we arrived I was totally dissapointed, that room was like any other less start hotel. I ask to change my room and the guy at the counter offer me a better room with a sea view that was totally different. To enjoy this hotel you have to chose a sea view hab.

Good amenities but a bit pricey
The hotel is located on the water and at low tide you can walk along the rocky shore. The pool is nice, though smaller than you'd expect with many guests. Though we checked in around 8 pm the room service cart was still in our room and we had to wait in the hall for it to be removed. The bed was very comfortable but the TV was situated in the middle of the room, between the bed and the sofa so you could only watch from one place without manually turning the TV. The balcony was lovely but didn't provide as much privacy as one might expect with an outdoor hot tub. The included breakfast was a buffet on Sunday which was a typical spread but of lower quality and lots of cold food, bacon, pancakes etc. Better Monday without the buffet though the same food was served, fruit, cheese, bread and choice of eggs. They were doing something in the kitchen one night and we were woken by the sound of a sledgehammer on metal pipes that lasted about 30 minutes. I've stayed in nicer hotels at half the price.
