30 years staying at AC. 226 was overall a nice place and very functional. Pretty clean! Hopefully helpful ecommendations: New throw rugs. Better pillows. One additional warm blanket. Improved instuctions on turning heat on and living room TV. Chemicals used to clean condo give a strong odor iniitially when entering condo and especially in the refrigerator. In summary we would stay there again. Thank you for your overall communication and customer support.
Older unit but very nicely equipped and supplied and a very functional layout. Good value, not high end - just what we were looking for. Not as close to the lifts as we had hoped; it’s quite a climb up to the lodge.
Unit was very clean and great location. Check in required picking up and dropping off a key off site which was inconvenient. Could be easily solved with a smart lock. Hearing unit was intermittently noisy, could need servicing. WiFi instructions were inaccurate but management handled all issues promptly. Property management co was quite professional and responsive.
Great bed. Two problems: 1980s coffee pot & Teflon pealing off the frying pan. In addition, the heat was not working in the dining area and the floor there and in the kitchen was ice cold. It would be nice not to walk into a beautiful condo that does not have a strong Lysol smell.
Great location and clean condo. Furnishings are basic but in good condition. The view is great. Kitchen supplies are not extensive or very well organized. Be aware that renting through this company requires picking up the keys at their office in town. The instructions were not clear only saying that we were to pick up the keys at "the office". Since there is an office at Aspen Creek, we assumed that was what was meant and we were confused. We are more used to "lockbox" access that is much more convenient. Also the wifi instructions that were sent my email were incorrect. The instructions that were on a sheet of paper on the coffee table are what worked.

Disliked: Check-in, communication
Not very well managed but walking distance from Eagle Lodge
Great location and convenient covered parking but the condo needs a lot of updating as it looks old and abandoned. Given the condo's condition, the nightly rate seems overpriced. The carpet is simply disgusting for lack of a better word and the couch looks dirty and shabby. If you are planning on cooking you might want to bring your own knives and if you go in the winter definitely bring a humidifier because the heater makes the condo extremely dry and uncomfortable. I also recommend picking up the keys before the main office closes if you can to avoid struggling to get the keys out of the antiquated lock box, those lock boxes also need updating. The management company wasn't responsive and not very helpful either, a couple of light bulbs actually went out so I reported it to but nobody came to replace them. Overall, if you want to stay in Aspen Creek to enjoy the amenities and what it has to offer, it might be worth spending a little more money to get a better unit in that same building. I would recommend renting this particular unit only as a last resort.

A Refrigerator that Sounded Like a Generator Spoiled the Experience
After four very lean years in terms of snow, we were expecting the accommodations to be a bit tired, which they were. But while the unit does have some updates to its kitchen, specifically the refrigerator and dishwasher, both of them were problematic. The biggest issue was the refrigerator, whose fan (which ran continuously ) made a noise like a generator. A loud generator. So loud we couldn't watch television in the living room and essentially spent all three nights of our visit in the bedroom with the doors shut. As for the dishwasher, it leaked. There were a few minor issues as well, when we arrived the unit did not have a spatula. It seems like a minor thing until you try to prepare eggs for breakfast. Other breakfast challenges were the toaster, which only toasted one side of the bread. There were no coffee mugs, only small cups, when we arrived.
The management was responsive, I'll say that for them. They sent people out to look at the problem, but did not have the parts to make the repairs and Mammoth being such a small town, parts would have to be shipped in. Which did not help our cause. Becky from the office was nice enough to come by and bring a spatula and cups, which was much appreciated.
However, I was given to understand that an adjustment would be made and we would receive at least a partial refund. I made numerous calls and sent emails, promises were made to me that someone named John would get back to me about a partial refund, but I never heard back.
If you are thinking of renting this unit, I would strongly suggest that you contact the rental agency to make sure these issues have been addressed.
Great location and great condo with just a little room for improvement
We really enjoyed our stay here. Here are the pros and cons (or more like areas that could use improvement) we found:
Pros:
-Overall, really a terrific condo with everything you need
-Very clean (but, overwhelming smell of cleaning products upon entry)
-Covered parking spot
-The master bedroom bed was comfortable
-Lots of firewood and great fireplace.
-Great central heating (once we figured out how to turn it on)
-Lots of extra blankets
-GW checked in via phone call two out of the four days we were there
-the kitchen had everything you could need for cooking for a family.
-cute and cozy, and the views were stunning!
-internet/wifi worked great, especially since we had no reception otherwise
-very close to Eagle lodge, we saw a lot of people walking there, but we didn't take advantage of it
Room for improvement:
-The couch/futon bed was incredibly uncomfortable for 2 adults.
-The sheets for the futon were tricky to find. (In the corner of the TV console!) The sheet was too small and kept sliding off. Only 2 extra pillow cases. The extra duvet they have is wripped and has burn holes in it. Kind of disgusting. The mattress too has seen better, cleaner days.
-We emailed GW twice before our arrival. The first time we got a response. The second time, we never heard back, even after a followup email
-The checkin process was disorganized on Grand Welcome's part. Communicate solely with the Mammoth office (which is not the original number we were given). Mammoth office was better.
-No instructions on how to use the wall heater
-No one said there were clean dishes in the dishwasher....would've been helpful since we couldn't find a single bowl in the condo.
-This condo is on the 2nd story, but there is a 3rd story above you. We could definitely hear people walking above us and it wasn't great, especially at 4am the first day or 6am all the other days.
-The first night was loud with kids running up and down the halls and ding-dong-ditching
-the main window in the family room is not sealed well. We stayed during 2 blizzards. The windows let a lot of cold air in and when it gets sunny, the windows end up leaking water as it melts.
Overall, we really enjoyed the stay, other than the loud upstairs neighbors and the uncomfortable futon. We would definitely consider staying again.
Oh and the floors (which are lovely) are VERY COLD. We brought slippers but I think that's good info to know for anyone staying here in the winter in the future.
