"A great find and close to the centre of town - our return trip as loved it so much before - the room was very clean and maids kept it in order stocking up tea tray etc - breakfast was good with a large choice - bar was ok but we preferred to be out on an evening - the pool sauna and jacuzzi an added bonus - all staff really helpful"

"Booked a room for one night and check in takes a long time so was waiting in a queue. Got to our room (3003) and it was small which we didn’t mind but the window was really small so hardly any sunlight came in. Secondly and more importantly there is some sort of pump in the bathroom so anytime you use the water or flush the toilet a really loud pump kicks in which isn't helpful when one of us is trying to rest. We had dinner booked in Chester at 8pm so I called reception at 6.40pm and was asked what I wanted doing about the issue. I asked ro be moved rooms and was told that reception will call us back. I called back at 7pm asking for an update and reception (Emma i think) told me they were really busy and fully booked so it is difficult but will call me back within 10 minutes. I informed her we had dinner booked so needed a resolution quick. She never called back so I headed down to reception about 7.20pm. She was very nonchalant about the issue and told me the hotel was fully booked - before serving me there was a couple checking in so could have offered their room. She told me she couldnt do anything now but will sort it out by the time we arrived back from dinner. We returned from dinner around 10.30pm and still didnt sort it. I ended up speaking to Gordon who regurgitated that they were fully booked. I said thats not good enough as the room is not adequate. He spoke to a manager on the phone and they put us in a club room at 11pm!"

"The hotel is nice. The hotel pub is the same. And the staff is polite. The coffee machine DID NOT WORK in the room. You couldn’t even put the mug (from the hotel room not my personal one) to pour coffee in it because it is too big. In the room there are no sockets. I wanted to charge my laptop and other devices, I didn’t have where. There are two “sockets” on one side and the other of the bed STRICTLY for phone cables. Meaning you insert the cable directly. That’s it. In the end I discovered the socket from the coffee machine and I dried my hair there with the hairdryer scattering the hair that was falling all over the mugs and kettle etc. At check out I was asked if everything is ok and I mentioned about the coffee machine and sockets. I was told that there are sockets in the room. I asked where? She said behind the television. I said thank you, I am not going to start moving the desk in the hotel room and the television to discover a possible socket hidden behind the television. People don’t go to a hotel to unplug the coffee machine, the kettle and the television. So that they can dry their hair or charge the phone laptop etc. All these should already be connected and additional sockets, not to unplug something from the socket so that I can use something else. For those who doubt that what I wrote would be true, or a possible reply from the hotel in which it will be said how it wouldn’t be as I wrote here, I inform you that I have videos from the hotel room."
