"A basic hotel undergoing refurbishment. Limited and small parking spaces. Coffee only (powdered creamer) in morning. Lot of highway noise from The 101. Ask for inside room facing courtyard, less road noise. Overall, OK and good value for the area."

"You can’t get any closer to the beach than this! You are literally on top of the water when the tide is high. This place is a 5 in every way. The view. The cleanliness. The communication with the host. Everything. Before we arrived, we were worried that there would be a pet smell since it is a pet friendly property. And we were worried about pet fur and getting allergies. But we didn’t experience any of that. It was super clean and it didn’t smell like pets, and we never would have known that it is a pet friendly place if we hadn’t have read it on the website previously. So if you are considering booking but are worried about that like we were, then know that you have no need to worry! I can’t say enough about how amazing this place is. It’s more than a 5! "

"Traveling from the Northeast we were thrilled with the cozy forest setting - so much like home, hidden within the desert hilltops, and yet so close to the ocean! The enchantingly decorated cottage and surrounding landscape design, including charming antiques, artwork and lighting effects, combined with contemporary household conveniences, delightful spa tub and pool, outdoor kitchen, fire pits, and easy communication with the hosts, made for a pleasant stay at this peaceful mountain resort. Easy access to Malibu beaches, Calabasas, Simi Valley, LA activities, and great canyon hiking trails were a definite plus. The accommodations were clean and comfortable. We were in the area for a large family gathering and enjoyed a late Sept visit - perfect for a little couples getaway! We’ll definitely consider returning in the future! "

"Gorgeous view, very nicely furnished, dolphins swam right in front of us daily between 9 and 10 am, direct access to a relatively quiet beach (though we headed to Zuma most of the time because it was better for our teens to body board) ... at high tide sitting on the balcony is like being out on a boat (without the swaying), super relaxing"
