"We had an excellent stay! The apartment was spotless, very well located, and everything was exactly as described. The check-in instructions were clear and easy to follow, which made everything very smooth from the beginning.One thing we especially want to highlight is the bed — it was incredibly comfortable! We slept and rested so well, which made a big difference after a long day exploring Victoria. The shower was also fantastic, with great water pressure and temperature.Overall, everything was very well taken care of and thoughtfully arranged to make the stay comfortable and enjoyable. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this place!"
Malahat Fairyland Cottage

"We loved staying at this very peaceful “fairy tale” cottage. Rachel was very helpful, so if you’re unsure about anything…ASK. (For example, the laundry is in the main house, not the cottage). The location made it easy to get back to Victoria, the Butchart Gardens and the Malahat Skywalk, but we felt a world away. We wouldn’t recommend for anyone with mobility issues (steep, but paved path to cottage) and the steps to the loft are tall. Don’t bring a ton of luggage, or you’ll be hauling it all down and back up! There’s no oven, but the grill worked great. We had absolutely perfect weather the entire week. We truly enjoyed the quiet and darkness. We saw jellyfish, lots of starfish, oysters and others and low tide and even a couple harbor seals. Rachel said sometimes there are sea lions and orcas. We’d love to come back for that! We feel so lucky for having been able to spend time in this very unique and peaceful setting. Thanks!!Krista & Jim"

"An absolutely stunning place to stay. Completely peaceful with its location in the woods. It has a well stocked kitchen should you decide to eat in, as we did. This one was the highlight of our two week journey around Vancouver island."

"We had a wonderful time. The apartment was clean, very comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped. Butchart Gardens was less than 10 minutes away and downtown Victoria was 30 minutes at the most.Do read Mike's driving instructions as The Hideaway is nearly impossible to find if you don't. If one has difficulty with stairs, this might not be a good choice. The property itself is secluded and if you have a dog that needs a place to be exercised, there is plenty of opportunities for that.We would come back without hesitation."

"Our family of six stayed on the boat for five nights recently. There was ample room and the beds were comfortable (even the fold-out couch). All bedding plus extras were provided so it decreased my packing. We were pleasantly surprised with the amount of hot water and water pressure in the showers. There were enough washrooms and showers to accommodate all of us. The boat is much bigger than it looks from the photos & it does not rock much at all. The sights from the deck: seals, otters, jellyfish, even small squid one evening, are very entertaining. This is a memorable type of holiday. The kids enjoyed the paddle boards and kayak and having a ride on the skiff when Johan ferried us all to a great beach down the way. Feel free to contact Judy prior to boarding with any questions as she will provide the answers and it’ll give you a better idea of what to bring, etc. We enjoy some adventure mixed in with our vacations & staying on the boat definitely checked that box!"

"Our family was impressed with this clean, modern, very aesthetic carriage house. It was quiet, private, and it had everything we could ever need. The beds were comfortable and linens were great. The Highlands area is beautiful and very peaceful. Thank you so much!"
