Pleasant stay

Staff are very friendly, allowed us to check in early which was really helpful. Room was a good size and bed was comfy. The reason for the 4 stars is the place is definitely in need of a little renovation. The spa facilities are tired and in need of repair. Overall a pleasant stay and good value.

The room was boiling and the heater was stuck on 26 degrees so we had to switch it off. I cut myself on a spring on one of the chairs. The lady on reception was very apologetic but no offer of any recompense. The hotel is dated but our room was spacious with plenty of storage space had we been staying for a longer period of time. Bathroom was very clean and again large. Beds weren’t super comfy but for one night they were sufficient.

We love staying here, close to train station to access London. The rooms are nice and able to use the swimming pool in the spa. Really good breakfast. Could do with a little update with paint. Will be back

Some of spa was not working in pool only one sauna was working .we ask for fruit and egg benedict not available forBreakfast not good for price. Got to hotel hour early as was ask £20 for early check in. Room was clean and tidy for age of hotel.

Waited ages to check in and thats the main problem the lack of staff. 35 degrees and the pool is boiling hot, whats the point in that? Tired room with no AC. Breakfast was good

A real Gem

There is something very special about Fredricks, at the edges it may to some appear a little frayed, and the décor a little dated, but to me this is charming, like a good pair of shoes, its comfortable, fits well and familiar. The rooms are lovely, the beds very comfortable, the customer service excellent and the food, well the food was absolutely amazing. There is something special about this place, relaxing and comfortable. I would 100% recomend

The staff at Frederick's was so helpful and friendly and personable. I felt very cared for and welcome, which is nice as traveling can be a bit lonely. The only reason I am not giving the property 5 stars is that the pool was under renovation, but it won't be next time I come back.

It’s such a shame. This hotel has such potential, but really lets itself down. Very tired all over, could also do with a clean too. Dirty walls and flies in cabin area in the breakfast room. No air conditioning in the rooms and the restaurant never seems to be open. The outdoor pool area is good especially in this heat, but it’s dirty and water stained everywhere, plus the patio could do with a weed. The staff are strange. Most things are too much effort, like the broken air con, coffee pods and sun beds. Would we come again? I’m not sure. It’s a good price for a hotel with an outdoor pool, but doesn’t leave you wanting to come back

Nice hotel , but when checking in on the evening I felt rather not wanted there , was looked up and down by the two lady’s on reception they didn’t tell me much other than here’s your key , I think it’s because I was in my workwear , but I still payed the same as everyone else there ? Won’t be staying again!… I’ve worked away for 20 years and stayed in a lot fancier hotels and been made to feel a lot more welcome. The lady on when checking out in the morning was lovely though
