England's Gate and Coachhouse

England's Gate and Coachhouse

10/10 Excellent
"This booking was for an overnight stay for a short break in Herefordshire, so all we really wanted was a comfortable bed for the night. We got that and much more. The room we booked was compact, but fully equipped. The bed was firm which was very much to our liking. The room was spotlessly clean. Our booking was managed by the Inn's bar staff who were competent and very friendly. Being able to get a tasty meal at the inn after a day's activities was a further plus. The only items which need attention are the front door which grinds on the floor and needs adjusting, and the bathroom extractor fan which doesn't seem to work. If the opportunity arose we would definitely stay here again."

Royal Hotel Ross On Wye by Greene King Inns

10/10 Excellent
"Ideal location for Ross on Wye and exploring the area. Old historic building with usual quirky uneven floors and some signs of wear and tear which were more than compensated for by the friendliness and warmth of all of the staff. We had a superior room with windows on two sides - spacious and very comfortable with traditional dark wood furniture. In older buildings, a lack of power points is often an issue, as it was for this room, but I take an extension lead - problem solved. Breakfast was excellent, and we had a sandwich at lunch and bar snacks in the evening in the bar, both very good. Parking is within the hotel and free. Would go back and recommend to others."

"Wow! What a fantastic property! Pur party of 14 ladies enjoyed an extremely relaxing weekend of celebrations here. The house itself is large, very beautiful and clean, with all the amenities needed. The host Lucy, is very lovely and communication with her was first rate from the moment of booking until the end of the stay, and she was so accommodating .The exterior of the house, gardens, patio and stunning views are incredible and the wildlife and animals that visit give it that extra bit of magic. We all left feeling extremely happy and relaxed. I could not recommend more highly and we would all love to return in the future."
