The location is great being only a 5-8 minute walk to the main downtown street on the island. Our room was nice and was one of the rooms with a private bathroom. I do wish there were more outlets in the room itself (not just in the bathroom or hidden behind large furniture in the room); we struggled to charge our phones, etc. The bathroom is very small with basically no counter space. It would be great if a shelf or two was added to the wall for a place to put our toiletries. The breakfast was a pretty simple continental breakfast (usually one hot dish and then some grab and go pastries, yogurt, cereal). They do tea and coffee time everyday from 4-5 with fresh baked cookies. My biggest complaint is that it was impossible to get ahold of them by phone. I tried calling a few days before our reservation to confirm some things and was on hold for almost 30 mins; eventually it took me to the voicemail which I left my number and never received a call back. I had to email them instead which is fine if the matter is not urgent, but if you need something immediately I have no idea how you would get in contact with them.

Hot water pressure is turned off on one of the sinks, but hot water is definitely available for the showers! Super cute, super quaint, and super kind staff! Thank you for giving us a beautiful anniversary!

Be prepared for stairs and 100 year old plumbing! But if you find these things charming, as I do, this is a lovely respite. It is very quiet and easy access up the hill to above the fort for wonderful nature hiking. The service was exceptionally personal.

We loved this amazing Bed and Breakfast. Staff was fantastic the breakfast was amazingly delicious. An egg scramble with sausage, potatoes, gravy. Lots of other choices as well. The blueberry muffins tasted like it just came out of the oven!!! We were able to leave our overnight backpack so we could hike for the day. I highly recommend!!!!!! We are celebrating our 50th Ann!

The cottages were in a beautiful area, next to Lake Superior. While the cottages were older, they were in very good shape. Each one was different and each night there was a bonfire next to the water. It was a very good stay.

We had a lovely stay. Our room was very clean and comfortable. The innkeepers were friendly and knowledgeable. Breakfast was continental with a warm option each morning. Our room had a large private bathroom but the shower was very small. But who cares about that with the view we had. We could lay on our bed and see the beautiful lake with all the ships passing by. Incredible. We would definitely stay here again! Oh and coffee/tea and cookies every day at 4!

Great place for those on a budget
This is a great place to stay on the island if you are on a budget. Reasonably priced (for the island, where everything is terribly expensive), great location, friendly staff, good breakfast, comfortable beds, good wifi. Sharing the bathroom wasn't a problem, especially since my room had a sink. I had a double room - it was small but enough for one person. It had great air conditioning which was welcome given the unseasonable heat. I was able to take a look at a suite - it looked great with a two bedrooms, its own bathroom, a sitting room, kitchenette and good view on the water.

Our room was #13. The bed was comfortable and our room was clean. We did not have an attached bathroom, but the shared bathroom next door was always available when we needed to use it. The shared bathroom was also very clean. The hotel was about a 5 minute walk to downtown mackinaw island and the ferry. We chose to check our luggage, at no extra cost, to be brought to an from the hotel, so we could enjoy mackinaw island and not have to worry about carting our own luggage. Breakfast was nice each morning and staff was very friendly. Would stay here again if I visited the island over night.

Great location on Macinaw Island, they have the luggage delivery down pat. Helpful staff and breakfast was great (not fancy but well prepared). We had a queen room with private bath, compact but nice however the bed was squeaky (if you moved it world squeak). Tight shower. If you can’t climb stairs don’t look here. Overall it was wonderful.

Wonderful stay!
We stayed one night. This bed and breakfast is just perfect! The shared bathrooms were always available . The breakfast was delicious - an egg dish with bacon, cheese, potatoes, also warm cinnamon muffins - yummy! In the afternoon we had giant white chocolate chip cookies and coffee. Loved this place!

The shared bathroom was a surprise and would have been a deal breaker .. while noted once and not in any reviews ?? Had to wait numerous times , sink was tiny, no where to put anything . Breakfast was ok but no vegetarian warm meal . Porch did not have a view . I would not go back to this B&b

Quaint, quiet, recommended!
The property is just a short way up the street from the main thoroughfare, in a quiet spot. The B&B is beautiful and renovated authentically to its era. Attention to details, cleanliness, and a welcoming atmosphere. Breakfast is delicious, buffet style, and a nice touch is the afternoon tea time with a scrumptious mega-cookie and tea/coffee in the dining room. A lovely place I would return to.

Great location in Mackinac. Charming and quaint. Beware this is a B&B that has a shared bathroom (I did not realize this until we arrived, my bad). Our room was so small, we could barely move around. The sink, both in the shard bathroom and bedroom was the size of a dinner plate with no room to set your toothpaste to brush your teeth. The innkeepers were very nice, great coffee but the breakfasts were just okay. I will not be staying here again mainly because of shared bathroom and very small rooms. If the rooms had some shelving or counter space it would have been tolerable.

Our stay at Pine Cottage was incredible! The inn keepers were very welcoming and friendly. Our room was historic, yet updated. I appreciated the fresh and homemade breakfast options! Afternoon tea time was a nice surprise at check in. Easy walk to shops, restaurants, and ferries. Great value on Mackinac Island! Would recommend Pine Cottage to everyone!
