"Staying here was a once in a lifetime experience! We were just steps away from the ocean which was breathtaking to view from lava rock cliffs. Our accommodations really set the vibe for this part of the Big Island. It was very tropical and like living in a rain forest with the greenery and fragrant flowers. The outdoor shower was a refreshing experience ( though an indoor shower is available, this outdoor shower is a must-do). Everything you need for a comfortable stay is provided, many little thoughtful touches. The accommodations were very clean. The hosts are very friendly and helpful. They are very passionate about living on this part of the island and eager to share their excitement with you. Breakfasts are delicious! Especially all of the fresh fruit. The lodge is a destination in and of itself, not just a place to sleep after seeing other places on the island."

"Beautiful views, nice location. Hosts are nice. There was a nice and unexpected welcome gift. House is stocked well with everything you need. Home needs some maintenance. Screens have large holes which wasn’t an issue until the last night. Griddle provided and range had heating elements that did not work. Pool is not heated, so very cold with all the rain."

"This is an amazing tropical getaway!!! We can’t say enough good things. The property was a tropical garden and the house was spotless and very well maintained. It is private and the hosts were extremely generous. We didn’t want to leave. Highly Recommend this location for a Hawaiian getaway!!!"

"You could tell that the hostel has been a work in progress over the years built on a solid bed of black lava and completely off of the grid! Nothing is the way that we're used to in our day to day living but everything that you need is there! If I've intrigued you, then try this awesome place! We opted for the deluxe room with private bath. Our room as well as the entire place was immaculate throughout! We were staying there after witnessing Kilauea's 47th eruption. This unique hostel was about an hour away from the volcano! The host was Marissa and she greeted us when we arrived there late evening. Her outgoing personality made us feel right at home thru a rainy night in room #10 with an exceptional breeze while we slept! Our delicious breakfast of pressed coffee, homemade waffles and fresh mango filled out stomachs before our departure! My husband and I truly enjoyed our experience there but unfortunately for only one night! Try it, you'll love it!"

"This rental is ,by far, the best well equipped rental that we have ever rented in the last 30 years. There is nothing that we did not have or want. The location is top notch and beautiful. Huge grounds with plenty of fruit and coconut trees. Flowers are abundant, and the setting is gorgeous .The inside is equipped with two tv's and video player along with cd movies. The beds are absolutely comfortable, especially for one with multiple back surgeries.The kitchen is well stocked with dishes, glass ware and utensils. Cupboards and drawers contain everything from soup to nuts including super glue and bug spray. The outside garage storage is where you will find beach accessories, snorkeling equipment and more.On the front porch are a couple of hammocks, chairs, tables and a gas BBQ. Off one of the bedrooms is another covered porch with chairs and table.This is also the resting place of Mango, the cat. What a character she is. very loving, independent and smart. Not quite sure where she normally lives but there is a good supply of food for her at the house in the back garage/covered area.There is also , in that area, a washer and dryer. Both work great.The house is absolutely clean and there are plenty of towels, etc.House is easy to find if you remember: From Hilo to hwy 11 S. Turn East on 130. Go about 1/2 mi past 13 mile marker and turn left into Leilani Estates. The road the place is on is about a mile East down Leilani ave, on the right. Then two houses down on right."

"Jeff was a kind host, The land was absolutely Beautiful, fully equipped kitchen, nice rooms though Eye stayed in the tent which Eye enjoyed. It gets pretty hot and there during the day and very cool at night. Less than a minute drive from my favorite clothing optional beach. Eye really enjoyed my stay. The hot tub was nice, the bath tub was lovely and the outside showers. The only issue Eye saw was that the inside shower curtain had quite a bit of mold on it but besides that everything was great. One of my favorite stays ever. They also had the sweetest cat ili’ili. The photos of the place do not do it justice."
