"The stables was in an ideal location for exploring East Sussex and Kent with lots of nearby attractions. The White Hart inn next door is a family owned village pub with lots of character, good beer and food. The accommodation was ideal for a couple. The open kitchen /longe was very well equipped with the added bonus of French windows onto a small patio area with outside seating. Very difficult to find any faults as is highly recommended we would certainly stay here again."

"Lovely hosts. The cottage was clean, comfortable and very well equipped, don’t worry if you’ve forgotten anything! Has been decorated since photographs were taken so now more country cottage than Scandinavian. Terrace and outside of property very dusty but it is a farm yard and the weather was extremely hot. "A large well equipped cottage in a small rural village. Access was difficult due to local road closures, however parking was good. There was an excellent pub nearby but no local food shop. The kitchen was very large and well equipped as was the lounge. There was a nice garden with country views. The patio decking needed some repair.There were two bathrooms, one upstairs for 3 of the bedrooms and an en suite off the downstairs bedroom. "Was upgraded to sea view room with lovely view. Bathrooom needs a refresh as does hotel generally especially restaurant area, big room with no character. Staff were polite. Bar area okay but not sure staff have been trained very well, gin and tonic in white wine glass. Restaurant food was very average and starters were awful. Very expensive wine list."

"This is an old building that has been renovated but restricted by its character which is a good thing. The floors are squeaky, but the rooms are clean and airy with large windows, some of which overlook the ocean. The staff was generally friendly except for the overweight desk clerk who kept my breakfast order claiming she did not know who it was for, despite having my name, room number and access to my telephone and email address on the check-in information right there on her computer. She also happened to be the same clerk who had me waiting for 20 mins to check out while she yakked of the telephone, so no, I won't be using them again as much as I liked the area."

"Great hotel to stay in before a cruise from Dover. Slight mixup with the booking which Lily resolved professionally and quickly. Being able to book and pay for a cab at the hotel was very useful. Good was excellent at the restaurant and the cafe."

"The hotel is beautiful and full of character, and the historic building is wonderfully decorated. However, I don’t feel the overall experience justified the price. The room was comfortable, but there were several issues that need attention. The shower water pressure was very low, the TV only had local channels with no streaming options, and the room became very warm with limited ventilation. The hairdryer in the laundry room was also broken. My biggest disappointment was that dogs are only allowed in the rooms and not in the restaurant or pub. As a dog owner, this meant I couldn’t make full use of the hotel’s facilities. Overall, a lovely building, but I think some modernisation and maintenance improvements are needed to match the price point."
