"We were really impressed with this hotel.
We have toured France for three weeks, Bergerac was our last stop. Having stayed in boutique accommodation with Michelin star restaurants and paid through the nose for it, it was a refreshing change to get good value for money at an equally good hotel like this one.
From a great central location you can wander to the beautiful old town easily on foot. The checkin was quick and easy. We took advantage of the garage parking, although there is plenty of metered parking right outside the hotel.
The rooms had everything you could need and look to have had a nice recent refurb as decor and electrical items all looked new.
The staff were approachable and friendly and if in this part of France in the future we would definitely choose to stay at Hotel de France again."
"This is a lovely little hotel in a quiet area of Bergerac but very close to the railway station.
My room was very comfortable and clean with a good bathroom that was also very clean.
The staff are very friendly and helpful and the breakfast is very good.
I would definitely stay there again."
"Booked a room for seven nights, but checked out after the first night. It was incredibly hot that week, around 105 degrees. The room had no air conditioning, or fans. The windows could not be open during the evening because there were no screens in the windows and with the mosquitoes and bats flying around that was not an option. It was cooler outside than in the room.
When I decided to check out the following day the staff were apologetic, but there was nothing they could do.
The resort, as of now has not offered a refund for the remaining six nights."
