The accommodations were everything we expected. Three bedrooms and three bathrooms for three couples made this location ideal. It’s a bit of a walk to the walled city (20 minutes), but a bus goes to the walled tourist area from 1 block away and you can call a cab if you don’t feel like walking. Grocery store, phone store for SIM Card, and fruit store are all nearby. It was absolutely perfect for us. Guilia was accommodating and met us when we arrived. Stairs to second and third level were not an issue for us at all.
Patrizia was wonderful...very quick to respond and very helpful. The house was well-equipped. While it was not within Lucca walls, it was a very easy walk into town. The house had screens on the windows which was a big plus in Italy. We were there for 4 weeks so I made good use of the washer and dryer although I usually hung the clothes to dry. I liked the extra room for drying and ironing. At times, the WiFi was a bit unreliable but mostly worked well.
Host greeted us at property. Accommodations and supplies were plentiful. Property was a little farther from city than anticipated but overall a great value.
Throughly enjoyed our stay in Lucca thanks to this apartment!! Close enough to walk to town, parking right out the front door, close to grocery stores and we really enjoyed using the bikes to explore Lucca. Highly recommed!
We had a happy week here in April 2023 as a good base for exploring Lucca and the surrounding area. The property was clean and well maintained, they provide bikes for getting around and we slept well. Patrizia was a friendly and welcoming hostess.
This is a great location to explore Lucca and the rest of Tuscany. The house is clean, beds are comfortable and there is plenty of space. The location is quiet and within walking distance to several cafes and restaurants. We enjoyed riding the bikes into Lucca and along the wall. Another bonus is the parking right in front of the property. We would definitely stay here again!
Patrizia’s home provided the perfect spot for our family of 7 to use as a home base to visit Lucca and nearby family. Patrizia was a delight and so accommodating! Thank you so much Patrizia!❤️

Charming old house with modern bathrooms.
We all enjoyed staying here in Lucca at this lovely, well-maintained home. Hostess and her assistance were so helpful making sure we had information about the area so we could quickly find grocery stores, ATMs, and access the very convenient bus into Lucca and the train station.
Location was convenient for day trips to Volterra, Pisa, Sienna, and Florence.

Great location to stay for a good size group
Highly recommend the Anthea House. Excellent location has 3 bikes to use which is a huge plus. Kid friendly and close to a park. The best thing was how receptive our host was. They always were in contact with us and gave great recommendations. Can not say enough good things about this.

More of a house than an apartment with all of the amenities plus some!
A beautiful home with large beds and bathrooms! Plenty of space and some nice bonuses like a dishwasher, washer, dryer and bicycles. The owners are very kind and helpful. A place that I would definitely rent again when I go back to Lucca. Thank you Patrizia, Andrea and Luisa for a fantastic stay!
The house is spacious, close to the Lucca wall and in a beautiful neighborhood. The kitchen is well stocked with all the useful cookware for a family that wants to cook. The washing machine was great. Great communication with the property owner and overall a perfect home base for a longer vacation in and around Lucca.
Lovely and clean and very well stocked. We were able to walk to the walled city of Lucca in 15 minutes and also to the car rental to pick up our car for the second half of our trip to Sienna. The supermarket was also very close . We also used the house bikes to ride the wall in Lucca. Really enjoyed staying here.
The house was just like advertised
Patrizia and Andrea were the perfect hosts.
They provided us with all the useful information such as places to see and recommended restaurants.
We had a problem with the dryer and Andrea replaced it immediately.
I would recommend this house to anyone visiting Lucca
Patrizia is a great host and very helpful. Kept in touch with us to make sure we had what we needed. The home is very spacious, well kept and remodeled. Large rooms and 3 baths. Excellent location, our family does not mind to walk and found the 15 to 20 minutes walk to the historic centre of Lucca an easy walk. Location is good, close to highway and good access to visit surrounding cities like Pisa, and Florence. Overall a very good 5 night stay.
My two daughters two grandchildren and husband and I stayed there
It is a lovely house with three levels
Very beautifully finished off
It is about 20 minute walk from the walls of Lucca. Which is not too far but far enough to be away from the hassle and bustle
There are plenty of bakeries coffee shops even supermarkets, butcher within 10 minute walk
There is a bus if you do not feel like walking
The house has everything you need 3 bathrooms well equipped kitchen
Washing machine
We really enjoyed our stay
We travelled all around bagni do Lucca where my husband comes from

Very comfortable house in Lucca
We had a wonderful stay in Lucca. The house is very cosy, quiet and spacious. Shops are just around the corner, we loved the pizza's from l'Apizza, the bread from the bakery shop down the road and the icecreams. In the evenings we went for lovely strolls around the ancient city, to have a coffee, a grappa or an icecream or just to be amazed about the old streets, houses and squares. The supermarket is also close by, which is very convenient. It is also a very handy location to visit the region, for the motorway is very close by. Florence for instance was just a 45 minutes drive and you can even go to Sienna (which we did) in 1 and a halve hour. The owners are really helpful and flexible. Thanks a lot!

Convenient location to town and shopping. Bedrooms are on 3 floors.Steep stairwell.
Not recommended for patrons with limited mobility. Bedroom nicely appointed comfortable beds and good A/C
Kitchen well equipped.
Problem is the presence of mildew and mold on the first floor, coming from the laundry room. Odor and Stench would not go away in spite of cooking and baking often. But smell is not present on the upper floors.
Host was punctual to receive us and helpful with ample information about the location.

Nice home properly fitted and in real good condition. Sad the location, as more out of the historical center than announced (1,2km), in a suburban environment. Bicycles were not all usable (brakes issues). Do not forget neither garden nor terasse if you visit Lucca during the spring/summer/fall: in March this was not an issue and we were informed

As soon as I walked in the smell hit me and I did mention this to the owner who was there. It was a strong musty smell. I stayed for an hour. Opened the living room and kitchen windows to see if that would help. Walked upstairs and the smell was there as well. I was getting a bad headache . We could not stay here for a 2 weeks so left and booked a hotel until we found other accommodations.
My family of 5 enjoyed our 6-night stay at this beautiful home in Lucca. Each of the kids was able to have their own bedroom, which was a nice change from the hotels where we stayed during the rest of our vacation. The grocery store was very convenient and the kitchen was well-stocked, even though we ended up not cooking as much as we'd thought. Having both a washer AND dryer was great so that we could do some much needed laundry. We really appreciated the use of the bikes to ride into Lucca and around the walls. Parking was great for the first 4 nights but then someone came along and parked in front of the house the last two nights. We were able to find parking in the free parking lot just a short walk away so it wasn't a problem. We took the train in to Florence two days, drove to Pisa one morning, drove to Volterra another day and La Spezia/Cinque Terre another day. The location is very convenient to the train station and the Autostrade so it made a really nice home base. We loved Lucca and would love to return!
My family and I spent 6 weeks touring Europe and used VRBO properties everywhere. This was the worst one we have ever rented. The stairs are quite dangerous.
They are steep and dark, the worst part is the light turns off automatically while going up them, when I questioned that, she said you can turn the light back on. Well my parents are in their 80s and one misstep on a dark stair could be a disaster. The pictures do not accurately depict the home. Even the one above is so misleading. It is not bright and airy. It is dark and dingy and smelled moldy. There are bars on the windows. It is a a horrible neighborhood, lots of dust and trash in the alley next door. There is no outdoor area at all. It is not close to nice restaurants. The air conditioners are anemic at best and we were told to turn them off if we weren't in the room. How do they expect it to stay even the littlest cool. We left without packing our bags. We took one of the keys with us in case we couldn't find anywhere else to stay. We did find a new place and I asked for a refund as the place was not at all as advertised and with the mold smell and stairs it was not a safe environment. She was very rude and said no way. In full disclosure I didn't get around to returning the key and of course did not fight her keeping the key deposit . Also be warned you will need to sign your life away on waivers, she had waivers I had never seen before in all my years of using VRBO.
