The best area to stay in Lubiano is the Old Town (Casco Viejo), which is the historic heart of the city.

This neighbourhood is the main hub for visitors. It's very walkable and features well-preserved medieval architecture, with many local shops, pintxo bars, and restaurants clustered around the Plaza de la Virgen Blanca. This square is a central meeting point and often hosts local events. The narrow, winding streets create a special environment, and it's easy to explore on foot.

Couples often find the Old Town ideal for a romantic and enjoyable trip. You're within easy walking distance of significant landmarks like the Cathedral of Santa María, and the area offers a wide selection of dining options, from traditional Basque cuisine to modern eateries. The evening buzz of people enjoying pintxos and drinks adds to the experience.

For travellers looking for a somewhat quieter stay with excellent access to green spaces, the area around the Parque de la Florida, just south of the Old Town, is a good choice. This area still offers a central location but with wider streets and more open spaces, including the beautiful park itself.

For the most pleasant weather and a full experience of outdoor activities and festivals, the best time to visit Lubiano is typically from late spring (May) to early autumn (October).

May and June offer comfortable temperatures, usually ranging from 15°C to 25°C, making it ideal for exploring the city on foot or enjoying the nearby countryside. The flowers are in bloom, and the longer daylight hours allow for extended sightseeing. This period is particularly good for couples who enjoy walking and outdoor dining.

July and August are the warmest months, with temperatures often reaching 25°C to 30°C. This is peak season, when the city is bustling with visitors and local festivals are in full swing. If you're keen on experiencing Lubiano's lively summer events and don't mind the crowds, these months are excellent. Families often find the summer holidays a convenient time to visit, with plenty of activities for children.

September and October bring slightly cooler temperatures, usually between 18°C and 25°C, and fewer crowds than the peak summer months. The autumn colours are beautiful, especially in the surrounding natural parks.
