Great great location close to many touristic attractions !! Our room at front of hotel (2ndfl) was very noisy in the evening due to traffic or sirens. Book a room in rear side of hotel.

The hotel was really clean and welcoming to enter. The front doors are locked at 9pm and accessible by key card to add security. The staff were all welcoming and friendly and very accomodating when we needed to leave luggage and get changed after the half marathon!

Very good hotel for staying near the West End, but without much late evening noise. The rooms themselves need updating. In our room there were no outlets or USB charging ports next to either side of the bed. We had to charge all our stuff at the desk (inconvenient). Good water pressure and hot water. Rooms also lack a mini fridge.

When we arrived the woman on reception came over as very cool and not very welcoming. This is the only criticism we have of our stay. We have stayed here several times in the past and have always been very pleased with the food and the service. When we checked out Hamib LL70ZKY was very pleasant and checked with us if everything was satisfactory and we will definitely stay

Don’t understand how this is a 4 star hotel, so dated, odd musty smell throughout the hotel, very old air on system, marks all over the walls and staining, my bath had a crack in it. Some 0* hotels at better than this.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Thistle! Our room was larger than expected, the staff was friendly and helpful, and it was super convenient having the bus stop right outside. It was also a close walk to Covent Garden and The Strand. We'd definitely recommend!

Disappointing.
Booked a family suite, with a king-size bed and a sofa bed. Submitted details in advance to confirm three people staying, so it was disappointing to find everything set for two (two towels, chairs, glasses, cups, robes, biscuits etc). Also disappointing that housekeeping came at around 10am after the first night and, after we asked them to give us 15mins, never returned. These are minor issues, which I'm sure would have been rectified if we'd reported them to reception. But basics should be right. Also disappointing that communication beforehand (asking about late check-out and early check-in) went unanswered (sent some weeks in advance. This wasn't the cheapest hotel and I've enjoyed better service in less expensive venues. That said, it was clean, comfortable and food was reasonable.

The location is ideal as it is a short walk to the Holborn tube station and the Tottenham Court station. The British Museum is in the "backyard," and many theatres are within walking distance. The inhouse restaurant is excellent. The staff was nice, but they didn't overextend themselves. My room was small and clean, but the noise of the trash being collected outside the window every morning was annoying.

Incredibly slow Check-in just too aggravating!
Could never get over the irritation of waiting 32 minutes in a queue to check in to the hotel. Everything else was okay, but I’ll never stay at a Thistle Hotel again.

A pre Christmas family break in this hotel, it is in a great location for the Dominion Theatre and Oxford Street. There is not really anything not to like as it ticks most boxes.

Hotel was fine. Staff friendly and helpful and beds very comfortable. Our main issue was not getting a hot shower in the morning.... something to do with the boliers being turned off. Breakfast was excellent - lots of choice!

Just what was needed.
totally pleasant stay throughout. Easy to book communications before stay excellent. Staff pleasant and accommodating. Breakfast was absolutely fabulous with an extensive choice. So relaxing atmosphere throughout the hotel. Room cleanliness as would be expected for this rating. All in all exactly what was needed for the short break in London. Great location near to transport links.

The hotel is in good neighborhood and close to city attractions. The room was okay but the real problem is that the AC stopped working in the last night and we asked for a quick fix because we are leaving early on the following day but no action was taken till my husband went and complained and then they gave us a second room to sleep in this last night. I appreciate if this action would have been taken as soon as we complained by phone couple of times.

Overall it was very good, some minor issues but basically a very friendly, supportive group of staff (albeit gave me the wrong information a couple of times for attractions), but it was clean, comfortable and safe, pretty good from all my areas of importance

Hotel in general was good but not worth the price paid. I would not rate it a 4 star. Room was small. Walls were dirty and scratched. Was a carpeted room which smells not so good. Cars outside in the street can be heard in the room. Beds were average. It is an old hotel which needs upgrades.

Stuck in the basement!
First impressions were that it was a lovely hotel, but then we went to our room and it felt like we'd been dumped in the basement, down fairly steep stairs, walls outside the window and a pokey little room. Normally we would have challenged this, but we were in a rush so didn't have time. But considering how much we paid (even taking into account London pricing), definitely not worth it!

On the whole the hotel was good, the room we had was a little tired but the beds were very comfortable, cleaning could have been more thorough in the bathroom. Breakfast was good and plentiful.
