We ended up walking to a nearby restaurant for drinks and their restaurant was booked and had more options. Parts of the hotel could do with some tlc, but the breakfast room, dining room and bar area were lovely and the food was great. We liked the gardens with the river at the bottom. Our hostess started us off in the morning with a delightful breakfast, good cup of coffee and good advice or directions to our days activities. She made sure we enjoyed ourselves. The bonus was the view from the property was gorgeous."

"This was a wonderful hostel. The check-in was very quick and the staff member on the desk was so friendly and helpful. We were two older couples in a quadruple room which was very comfortable. The kitchen was very big, modern, squeaky clean and had all the equipment and utensils required/needed. There were numerous tables in the dining area. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and thoroughly recommend Glencoe Hostel."

The warming closet to hang up wet clothes was amazing. Bed was very comfortable. View of lake was lovely. Host was attentive. Great stepping off point for hiking."
