Lovely, well maintained property and room. Views of the river. Accommodated our late arrival. Breakfast available, but we did not eat there. Peaceful.

The room was fine, but marks on the walls and cracks in the paintwork made it feel a little dirty and old. The room was a long way from reception, up stairs (there is no lift). There was a small bathroom with a basic shower and mini shampoo/body wash. There was a little TV with standard channels, wifi, and a kettle. The reception area is much more basic than in the photos. There are a few spots to park out the front.
Decent spot to visit. We only stayed one night enroute to Skye. Both mattresses were rather soft (felt springs), but the room was tidy and clean. Great view of the Loch with a large window that opened fully for that fresh air! Road noise was prevalent yet the traffic subsided early in the evening. If you’re a light sleeper, the walls are not very noise proof.
Though we didn’t stay for a meal, The restaurant does serve breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Free and easy parking for cars/suvs.
Nice rooms with view of the loch. Good breakfast. The staff is very helpful. The food is good.

We didn’t have breakfast so can’t comment on that.
We had evening dinner which was very nice.
Staff were friendly and helpful.
It was clean but just needs a good update, which is a shame as the hotel was a great stop off for us.
The bathroom door was very small to get through and the bed was a small double.
All in all a good stay.
Lovely hotel in a good location. Staff very friendly and helpful, rooms were comfortable with great views of the loch. Food in the restaurant was excellent, would recommend!

Un poco descuidado e improvisado. Para una estancia de paso y bajo presupuesto aceptable.
I’ll start by saying I don’t often make reviews unless something is really good, or really bad. And this one was really bad.
To preface, I’ve travelled a bunch, stayed in group hostels, cheap airbnbs and done lots to save a few bucks on a trip.
This place really is just not something I’d recommend anyone to spend money on. Spend the extra few dollars and go somewhere else.
Check in was fine, there was no one at the desk for a few minutes then someone came out and quickly checked us in, pretty much saying nothing but “your stay doesn’t include breakfast”, “sign here” and “you’re in room 9 up the stairs”, and pointed where to go. Not my experience with most hotels but maybe they skipped their hospitality training.
We went up to the room, the door kind of looks like Harry Potter’s door under the stairs.
We got in and I’ll list below what I observed and what I came to find in the coming hours:
Pros:
- nice view on the mountains
Cons:
- tv mounted on the wall fully crooked
- ceiling had a lamp shade that was falling off
- One of the bed side lights didn’t work at all
- Cob webs all over the side of the wall in one corner
- Wall paper peeling off the walls
- Black mold on the ceiling in the shower
- Cold water tap moves out of place entirely when you turn it on
- Shower fills up with water while using it because it doesn’t drain properly
- bottom sheet in the bed. mattress cover, top sheet, comforter, one pillow each.
- Toilet is constantly running
- wifi sucks
We had a great stay here. Everything was wonderful. The view was absolutely exquisite. The staff were totally helpful, accommodating, and very polite. The place was clean and lovely. The bed were reasonably comfortable. The only thing that was a little off, was that the blind in the bathroom was broken, so we had to manually roll it up if we wanted it open. It was no big deal since everything else was so lovely.
The room was very out dated and dirty. The sheets had hair on them. There was no shower only a tub but there was no hot water anyways. There was no heat. Someone was singing or praying very loud at about 11 oclock at night. No elevator and we wrre on the 3rd floor. Awful!!!!!

Disliked: Cleanliness
The room was very clean and comfortable. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. Beautiful views in the restaurant of the Loch. All the employees are very kind, warm and welcoming. We stayed an extra day because we enjoyed our stay so much. If we ever come back to Scotland, we will stay at the Lodge on the Loch. Cheers.
So… we ended up here because a storm closed the hotel where we had reservations. this property has a lot of potential and it is working toward being a solid hotel. Our group had 3 rooms and they were all extremely different. Room number 2 was very nice and I would give it 5 stars for decor, cleanliness, and atmosphere. Room 3 was a step down - the difference was the decor. Room 11 was bad - like pre-renovation. Furniture, bathroom fixtures, carpet, everything needed to be replaced - the bathroom was barely functional and it was so rundown that it felt unclean. I spoke with the “front desk” and it sounds like the hotel was recently purchased and they are starting renovations.

Staff was polite. The dinner was very expensive and did not live up to expectations. Dinner service was not attentive. No mixed drinks available. Very limited whisky offerings.
The room was ok, but there was no way to shut off the bathroom fan, so it was going all night. The chairs in the room are very well worn and uncomfortable.
On our second day, a storm came through and no power and hot water was available for over 14 hours. The front desk was not going to refund the last night as we were not going to stay without heat, lights, hot water or restaurant available( there wasn’t anywhere else to eat and no fridge in the room). My husband had quite the conversation with them before they relented and refunded the last night.

Rundown
Room was very cold you could feel air blowing in around windows. Bathroom was so small nowhere to sit anything. Not very sound proof. Carpet needs a good cleaning. Bed was comfy and we asked for an extra pillow and they did bring us two. Very rundown building and area outside not the cleanest. Had to carry luggage up about 40steps

The power went out but the kitchen remained open. Everyone did the best they could do and stepped up under the circumstances. Candle became very useful.
