Faded glory. Fine period furniture. Room cold. Staff friendly.
Stayed for 1 night.
Pros: The double room was big, with a ensuite bathroom that was also very spacious. The receptionist was friendly and check in was straightforward. The location is pretty central and convenient.
Cons: the room was quite tired - mattress was creaky and very uncomfortable, and cleanliness was not good. The bedside lamp was held together by used chewing gum- very grim.
Every time you leave the building you have to leave your room key with reception which is inconvenient. There is no car parking.
Overall very much not worth the £160 I had to pay, would not recommend.
This facility does not run as a real hotel but rather as a family rental. I could not leave my baggage for a few hours after checking out because I was told no one would be there for the rest of Sunday! Seriously?!!
It is also so inconvenient that you have to leave your keys every time you leave the hotel and then get them back when returning. Usually, there is no one at the front desk, and you have to look around or call a number to get help.
Moreover, the furniture is pretty outdated from 50 years ago, and the water in the sink are either cold or too hot (two separate faucets); you cannot mix!!
Had to leave hotel before checking into room and fly home due to a family bereavement. Receptionist advised she would mention to management as she didn't have authority to process any form of refund and nobody was there who could. Messaged the following day and was advised by Sue she would look into this in the office that day. No response. Sent a follow up message two days later. No response. Ghosting customers a terrible example of customer service.
