Room was clean we were upgraded to larger apartment (10) before check in so very spacious. Stayed as family for theatre trip after Christmas, the location is very central but next to nightclubs so it was loud! This is clearly aimed at groups for clubbing, you could see some wear and tear to walls and furniture in the apartment.

Recent stay

Layout was good but decor needed some touching up. No windows that could be opened so apartment stayed very warm and especially when showers were used as the steam could not escape. Location really good. Need better lighting in bedrooms around the mirros

The location was perfect. The condition of the flat was ok. Lots of marks cracks etc. sofa bed in lounge wasn’t amazing. Didn’t have enough towels - 8 of us staying and only four towels. Had to contact them to bring more. Would stay again though

Highs and lows.

The flat was much nicer than expected. It was large with a nice sofa and TV. The shower was perfectly functional and bed was comfortable. Issue was the flat was rather hot, no air con, and given the location you don't want to open the windows. Other guests were also not too considerate of the need for others to sleep. Finally the communication is other the top. They email you daily if feels like, which just isn't needed.

Wouldn’t book again, but good location

The flat looked like it had been torn up. Wallpaper peeling off the walls, scuff marks and scratches on the walls, shoddy maintenance work which left horrible scratches, scuffed skirting boards. There was ONE prosecco glass and no wine glasses. Which doesn’t sound like a problem but when you arrive for a girls trip away and two people have to drink out of tumblers, it takes the fun out of it. The magnetic release on the man entrance door sometimes didn’t work. The maintenance guy came into our flat while we were out and pulled the handle off one of our bathroom doors (why were you in the bathroom?). They sent someone round to fix it and said there had been a mix up and thought we had checked out. But our coats and shoes were in the hallway so he would have seen them when he entered immediately so why then use the bathroom?! The 50% security deposit is not immediately obvious when you book so that’s a fun surprise too. Saving grace of this place is the location. Right in the middle of the bars and pubs so great for the night life but everything else, poor effort.

Communication was great, central to everything and someone was always on the end of the phone if help was required. Shops, places to eat and drink are really local. Room was very spacious especially as 7 of us were in the room. Would recommend and hopefully will be back :) Thank you!

Bed and pillows are too soft and dirty. Basically well equipped but furniture are old. Rooms are not so clean. Nice location, so much restaurants and shops nearby. Staffs are very nice.

Very helpful and friendly staff

I was staying for a long weekend to visit family and go to a game at my rugby club on The Wirral. I had booked into the Seel St apart/hotel but actually stayed in the Duke St location. Very helpful and friendly staff in the office at check-in and check-out. Was able to have a parcel delivered prior to my arrival. Only good things to say about my experience and look forward to staying with EPIC again on my next visit in the new year. Thanks EPIC team!

Not bad!

Good for the price, great little kitchen area. The room was freezing sadly, the heating did not work at all. Looked clean on the surface but lots of bits missed. Bed was really comfy, but not enough pillows.

3 night stay in 1 bedroom apartment

Great location, staff pleasant to deal with over phone and WhatsApp. Easy to checkin and check out. Stayed in 1 bed apartments sleeps 5, would’ve needed more towels for 5 ppl only provided two bath towels and two hand towels. Only provided one toilet roll for two bathrooms so had to buy more. Was no hairdryer in room but they provided one on day 2 after asking for a second time for one. Walls could’ve been doing with repainting and some of the carpet was ripped in bedroom but overall very clean and great place to stay. Perfect for groups.

Hotel is in a great location there is no staff at reception everything is done via phone or social media the staff were really helpful I had to call them a few times very friendly the booking in system can be a bit confusing as they send you a code for the door then a code for your lockbox outside your room that has the key fob in for your room a few people arriving at the hotel were a bit confused as to how it worked we worked it out in the end The bathrooms were big and the beds were really comfortable the kitchen area was cosy and relaxing the hotel itself is great it’s just the decor, fixtures and fittings that let it down a touch of paint and a few minor repairs it would be an amazing hotel

The accommodation is fine but I find it really odd that kitchens are fitted out well yet hardly any basics to use them are provided. I ended up having to buy disposable baking trays and this wasnt the first time !! We expected some noise due to the location and weve stayed there before but sound proofing was nowhere near as good as it has been when weve stayed in other apartments.....the poor person sleeping on the.sofa bed had to keep the tv on ! Cleanliness was at a good standard as it always is but there were mouldy teabags in one of the canisters which isnt great......would also be good if a wash up sponge or even a pack of cleaning wipes were provided. For the sake of a few pence it would mean less work for the cleaners.

Not a good start but the staff was serviceminded

We had booked a “super lux studio” for 2 adults and 2 children. Alarm bells went off when we came to the building since the place was quite worn down. We were really disappointed when we got in the apartment. It was freezing cold, the windows would not shut, the walls and carpet was stained, it smelled terrible and there was not kitchen utilities for a family of four. The walls were paper thin and parties going on all over. We called the receptionist and he came over quit quickly. He was really serviceminded and took us to their buildings in Duke Street to view other rooms. These rooms were of a much higher standard, but was actually what we expected from the price we paid. It was not ideal having to move a family on a Friday night after traveling the whole day, and they shouldn’t have put us in the apartment in Seel Street in the beginning, but we are still happy with the solution they came up with, and the receptionist was serviceminded and helpful.

Rough start ends relatively well.

I was unaware of a 50% holding deposit so had to pay before I arrived. 1hr after this was paid I then had an attempt to take the full amount for the 2 nights stay. I challenged the EPIC team, as when I booked the property via Hotels.com I stated pay at hotel. I was told by the EPIC team, that they have no one at the sitw so the money has to be taken before arrival. Again, I was not very happy with this, bit I had to pay. The EPIC team advised that I should raise this with hotels.com directly so that hotels.com are able to remove or adjust the option of Pay at Property. The apartment it self was very nice, clean, a good size, comfortable bed and apprecited the free tea, coffee and milk.location wise, excellent, but be aware if you stay at the weekend, it is rather noisey outside till around 2am due to the local bars and clubs on the street. The door code to the apartments was changed yesterday, but I was not advised of this by the EPIC team. My friend, was standing outside for over 1hr in the cold as they had come back to the apartment to collect a coat and had to wait for someone to leave the property so they were able enter. EPIC team need tonupdate pwople if the code to the main door is changed via message/email on the day. I would stay here again, especially now I understansd the process, as the apartmwnt was very nice and at very good price.

A basic stay

I booked 5 rooms for a hen party including the penthouse. We appreciated a couple of free upgrades and a complementary late check out on the penthouse. The space was massive in all the rooms and had everything you could need. The location is great too. However we did have a few issues. The self check in codes arrived an hour late and only after my friends had visited the office at the sister hotel. The penthouse was very cold and the heating system didn't seem very effective, it also needs a lick of paint in some areas like the ceilings or cleaning the old tape off the windows. Living rooms dont have curtains and one of them had a flood light outside, so the person in the sofa bed couldnt sleep - the team changed the room on request though. Not sure how this would be handled if it was busier in season. Even though i'd been given complementary late check out, the team called multiple times and housekeeping came knocking at 11am. I was asked to pay for overstaying, although this was quickly settled once i sent evidence of correspondence. The late check out requested a payment for some of the rooms even though this had been paid in advance. Overall, it was fairly good and issues raised were dealt with quickly, but not worth the money paid.
