My single room cosy and clean with everything I needed. The bed was very comfy and the full English breakfast was lovely. Jane was very friendly and welcoming, I'd highly recommend staying here.

Situated within easy walking distance of Lord Street and the town's main attractions, the Bowden Lodge was ideal for my weekend stay. The public rooms - lounge and breakfast room - are spacious and show off the building's character; the single bedroom was modern, very clean and with all the usual facilities. The couple who run the Bowden Lodge were friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was nicely cooked. There is parking at the front and a bus stop right outside. There is a small fridge in the room with fresh milk for tea and coffee making- a nice touch. A minor point is that the shower could perhaps be a little more powerful. Overall a very comfortable and welcoming establishment.

Just fabulous!!

Had a very pleasant stay, a lovely friendly family run business. The hotel was spotlessly clean and served a very nice choice of breakfast, with the added addition of homemade eccles cakes and flapjacks. Another great addition was a stocked up fridge where you could get wine, beer, water, soft drinks and chocolate, you write down what you have taken and pay when checking out. Fabulous!! A short walk into Southport, a perfect location. I would highly recommend you to book and stay here.

First time stay, over three nights. Not only could we find nothing wrong or anything to make a negative comment about, our experience possibly eclipses anything found anywhere else. The proprietors have thought of everything, from facilities in the room to the layout and offering at breakfast. The bedroom and public areas are decorated and maintained to a very high standard and the cleanliness is excellent. Well done. Will be pleased to go back any time and recommend the Bowden Lodge to anyone.

On arrival we were welcomed by Jane, everything from breakfast, the mini bar, local discounts for guests and parking was clearly explained. The property is beautifully presented, with quality furnishings and many original features. Our room was spotless and spacious for a family of 4, with a kettle, biscuits and a selection of beverages. Breakfast on both mornings was freshly prepared and exactly as ordered. Andy and Jane have restored our faith in using a B&B over a faceless chain of hotels, by giving us a very personal and pleasurable stay. We will certainly be recommending and staying again. Thank you

My room was immaculate, with incredible attention to detail (toilet sheets with triangles, perfectly-made bed, not a spec of dust to be found anywhere) The room was warmed before arrival. Inside was a mini fridge which was great, with a cute glass-bottle of milk. There were also some typical 'mini-bar' type contents inside the fridge. The host was very pleasant while not being too inquisitive, which is the type of hosting you'd expect to get in a famous Park Lane hotel. Some of the touches of decor inside the building were beautiful as well. The lounge looks cosy and fantastic, although I didn't have time to use it. Overall, it was a great experience, and this was a masterclass in running a great hotel. My expectations were far exceeded.

Nice but not perfect.

This well located hotel was clean, comfortable, and provided an excellent breakfast. With free on-site parking and good room facilities this could have been ideal. However for a couple of bungalow living oldies, a room on the second floor with no lift and narrow stairs, no heating in the en-suite bathroom and indeed no heating at all between 11pm and 7am and warm but not hot water, we were a little disappointed.

Visiting elderly relative again.

Our almost regular visit to see a lovely lady who is now 102 years old. She is the father-in-laws cousin. The Lodge is so convenient as she lives very near. We had room 5 as the smaller ones were taken but it was spacious, having both a double and a single bed. Top left window in photo.

Brilliant BnB

Me my husband and two children stayed here for 4 nights. Everything about this place was excellent, couldn’t have asked for anything more. Extremely welcoming and friendly. Rooms were spacious and very clean, I was very impressed. Would definitely stay again and recommend to everyone.
