"Plenty of parking. Great location. It's a 1 star motel, you must know that. But if it is only to sleep the night, it's ok.
I gets really expensive during peak season, which makes you feel scammed, but it is all about offer and demand."
Beautiful Georgian Bay Waterfront: Amazing Escarpment & Island Views/ EV Charger
10/10 Excellent
"The house itself was great, John was an excellent host with great communication, the house was exactly as portrayed in the listing The kitchen was pretty well stocked for a short term rental and the grill works great - bring your own coffee. We got internet speeds around 40 MBS down and 10 up. That may have had to do with the weather as everything up there appeared to be line of site and was a bit spotty. Cell service in the area was also very spotty, so I would have a decent idea of where you are traveling before heading out for the day. The water at the beach was quite brisk but we did enjoy a swim - good beach shoes are needed, The layout has 3 bedrooms upstairs with the main bathroom on the first level and a 2nd bathroom and additional bedroom in the basement. Unfortunately our vacation happened to co-inside with really bad weather. It was unseasonably hot and humid the first couple of days. The house does not have central air only a portable cooler in the master bedroom, with normal weather this would not have been an issue but it was quite hot at night and the small AC just couldn't keep up with more than the one room. Then the smoke moved in and were never able to get the house cool, it was so thick you couldn't see the water. John brought us additional fans to help and did his best to make us comfortable. We are hoping we can get back and explore more of the outdoors and would defiantly stay here again."
"The location was central to where we were going to explore the area. The beach was foot steps away. Enjoyed the evenings around the fire pit. Local restaurants had friendly staff and food was home cooked ( Rachelle’s and the Hungry Hiker). Accommodations were clean. Understandably the WiFi was not very good. Staff at the hotel were prompt when needed. The breakers would trip when more than one appliance was in use, especially if the AC was in use. We enjoyed exploring the area and our hike up to Lion’s Head Lookout. Bring supportive shoes for the hike and water. There is a Foodland within walking distance for groceries and a Home Hardware, which closed by 6 pm. The best priced firewood was as you entered the Town, just past the LCBO."
Cozy/private cabin located in Lions head beside Bruce trail!
10/10 Excellent
"There's so much to do all within a 45 minute drive from Lion's Head, and many of these were within 15 minutes of driving. This cabin provided a sweet little home base for our family of four. My children loved playing in the loft, and the cabin was so cozy. The host was responsive and accommodating, everything was very clean and tastefully decorated, and the kitchen was supplied with some pantry items which was nice. The listing is a little unclear about whether this is a waterfront property: it is not. There are several beaches a short drive away, including in the town of Lion's Head. The garden of native flowers and plants in the front yard was so lovely. Plenty of hiking spots."
"Overall our stay was very nice. The location in the trees was lovely and it was convenient to all of the ‘hot spots’ on the Bruce Peninsula. We had one very rainy day when we really enjoyed the covered veranda, as we could still spend the day outside. The management company were very responsive to any questions that we had. It was nice to have two separate cabins. An important oversight in the listing is that it does not mention that the tap water is not potable. Thankfully we asked the host before we left and we were able to bring a 5 gallon water jug.On the downside, we felt that there were areas that could have been cleaner. The bathroom/shower for cabin 2 felt very dirty. The shower tray was grubby looking and there were A LOT of dead bugs. Also - the floors in both cabins felt like they could have used a serious mopping, or even a fresh lick of paint over them. The duvet in cabin 2 was definitely not clean. And we also would have enjoyed the dock more if, when we arrived, it wasn’t quite heavily covered in bird poop and broken crayfish shells. We appreciate that the space is a rustic cabin, and we really enjoyed that aspect of our stay, but there is a distinct difference between rustic and dirty. All in all we had a great time. If these minor oversights were attended to, it definitely would have been a solid 5 star experience!"
