We came by bullet train Xi a north station, we got on the no.2 metro train and got off at Xingzheng Zhong xin station, this is a really big station, we got directed to the other side of the hotel, get of the metro and exit from C5 and the hotel is about 200 metres on the right side of the City On shopping mall. "Le Meridien is a brand new hotel, very modern, but a bit short-staffed. It is a bit removed from the center of Xi'an, but quite close to the Terra Cotta site (ca 30 minutes), which was great for us as tourists. The breakfast was very good. We stayed in a "club" room so we had free access to the top floor lounge with a small dinner buffet and refreshments. When we checked in we found out that our room had two twin beds for the three of us, so the manager accommodated us by moving us to a king...

One part is newer and another one is very old and bad in every aspects, They sent me to the old one but online there is no info. about this. The room is dirty and many things are not working. "Booked this over Hilton, Sofitel, and a few other big name 5 stars. It was comparable in price but so many negatives. Bad pool, bad restaurants, poor service. I was really surprised as I always thought Kempenski was at the top and I've always wanted to stay there. So far away from the city...about 30-40 min away from everything. "Sofitel on Renmin Square exceeded our expectations in the quality and spaciousness of the room: for example, it had two toilets and a seperate Tub/Shower arrangement). It also exceeded our expectations in the breakfasts and the ambiance of the dining room. Additionally, all of the staff (expecially Leo the concierge) made us feel welcomed and were warm and friendly. Our stay at Sofitel Xian was a delight and an unexpected highlight of our 4 night stay in the city."
