The home does have a basement, but we do ask that this space stay off limits for property owner and manager use. Perfect location for my husband and I to get together with family and friends! Amazing location, fantastic amenities, no complaints! Would definitely look to stay here again!
The property is beautifully decorated, which added to the relaxing vibe. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils and pans, so i was able to make wonderful meals for my partner. Target was under 15 minutes away, so it was easy to stock up on food and snacks. We had to most wonderful time.
This property is just as it states with no pictures making it look larger than it is. It is just as stated in the listing. Plenty of room and well appointed.
We booked this beautiful little cottage for an overnight visit to celebrate our twin sons' 17th birthday, after an afternoon's hike in the Shenandoah. The house and property exceeded our expectations. It was very clean, spacious, well designed, with great outdoor space and grounds. The kitchen was well stocked, beds comfortable, linens, towels, etc. all beautiful! Everything felt very well cared for with many thoughtful touches including the coffee station and pantry. We all loved our stay and would love to come back!
Stayed here for a couple nights with my friends. Communication with the host was wonderful, very accommodating and helpful. Never seen such a well stocked kitchen. Tons of space and massage chair and jacuzzi were a nice touch. We got a little lost finding the place and it may be hard getting to the top of the hill with a small car. We fished the pond through out the trip. It is stocked with bluegill and bass. We all got tons of bass, some over 2 lbs. The host does stay at the bottom of the hill in an RV but gave us plenty of space and solitude. Couldn’t recommend this place more!
What a welcome sight this is the second time staying at the pond cabin. It was as though we never left. Wjat a beautiful serene place. The pond was teaming with beautiful fish of large size.we loved watching them jump. The house was spotless. The hot tub was a welcome bonus for tird old bones and the kids loved it. It made a nessary trip seam like a vacation. We had an appointment extra early in the morning and not having to strip the beds and gather the towls made departure a breeze , all we needed to do was start the dishwasher turn off the lights and lock the doors. How wonderful that was for the momma. We had a little trouble with the lock and the host was right on that immediately she was kind enough to let us check in early and was extremely responsive everytime i contacted her it took her less than 5 minutes to reply. Could not have asked for a better place to land for my family. I frogot to mention the absolutely beautiful landscaping and the well manicured trails so beautiful and a wonderful neighborhood with an ice-cream parlor within walking distance. Such a wonderful place.
I have had a Girl Scout troop for 13 years, and still have two kids left in my troop (Seniors in HS now!). We visited the Pond Cabin as our last troop trip, and had a great time exploring the property and nearby attractions. We got local produce across the road at The Giving Tree and cooked foil packets and s'mores on the firepit. We went apple picking at Stribling Orchard (get there early!) and had breakfast and donuts from the Apple House. All very close to the property.
The house was clean and comfortable, and the kitchen had almost everything we needed for cooking simple meals. (We couldn't find a whisk or a dish drainer).
The driveway is no joke, and I recommend parking down the hill and walking up unless you have all wheel drive. Also, because of the time of the year, we had to watch out for the black walnut trees dropping nuts on us and our cars. luckily, it wasn't hard to find a place to park away from the trees, so it wasn't a big deal.
I would definitely recommend the Pond Cabin, and would love to go back and try out the hot tub. Next time!
It was the perfect home away from home in a place that allowed our little family to take a breath of nature and just be. Close enough to many fun adventures. The amenities provided on the property also kept us very busy!
We rented the Pond Cabin since my son had two golf tournaments in the area for the weekend. This place was great. Very spacious and the pond was the big point of interest! We fished daily! The massage chair was also a hit!
Always phenomenal, always clean, always a pleasure. We aren't even willing to try any other VRBO or house rental sites; this is where we go when we need to relax and get away from it all. Personal note from the owner was a delightful touch; never any problems renting here and the property is top notch!
We had a great family weekend in this private cabin. The indoor and outdoor spaces are great for families. We specifically loved the two full and extra half bath, large dining room table, deck space, and walking path around the property. It was clean and had everything we needed.
Overall the property was in good condition with plenty of amenities. The house was Clean in a beautiful setting. However the steep bumpy gravel driveway to the property was very challenging for a sedan car.
My husband and two dogs stayed here for the 4th of July and loved our stay so much we extended it. The property manager Jamie was a pleasure to communicate with and the home was one of if not the cleanest I’ve ever stayed in. The property is large, great for a whole family or group of people. The driveway is very steep so the walk to and from the pond is a bit of a workout some may prefer to drive it. We loved the hot tub, it was very clean and seemed brand new. Highly recommend this property.
Overall, we loved it! Very comfortable house. Lots of bugs, though that's to be expected in this part of the state. If the house is going to be vacant for a while before tenants come in, it might be beneficial to run a few OTC fumigators, but not a big deal...good for building character for our kids!!There was an odor of gas near the front foyer area. We saw it referenced in the guest book, so I'm not sure why that's still an issue. If we had been able to smell it anywhere else, we'd probably have had to pack up and leave, but since it was confined to that one small area, we felt comfortable enough to stay. The only real suggestion we have would be to invest in some kid-friendly dishes, as we were absolutely terrified that our kids were going to break your beautiful dishes! Thanks so much!
Great property located off a small road with a long winding gravel driveway, very secluded. Caught several bass in the pond and then entire house including hot tub were very well kept and clean.
