The best area to stay in Lèves is indeed the central part of the town, particularly around the Église Saint-Lazare and the Mairie (Town Hall).

This central area offers a pleasant, relaxed base for exploring. You'll find a few local shops, a bakery for your morning croissants, and a couple of traditional French restaurants within easy walking distance. The streets are generally quiet and residential, providing a genuine sense of local life. The River Eure also runs nearby, offering pleasant spots for a stroll.

For couples seeking a peaceful retreat with easy access to Chartres, this central part of Lèves is ideal. You can enjoy the calm of a smaller French town while being just a short drive or bus ride from the stunning Chartres Cathedral and its historic centre.

The best time to go to Lèves is during the spring (April to June) and early autumn (September to October) when the weather is mild and pleasant, superb for exploring the region.

Spring brings blooming gardens and comfortably warm temperatures, ideal for strolls around the local parks or visiting nearby Chartres Cathedral without the summer crowds. You'll find the countryside at its most picturesque during these months.

Early autumn offers similarly agreeable weather, often with clearer skies and the beautiful colours of changing leaves. This period is excellent for enjoying outdoor activities and local markets, and you might also catch some of the local harvest festivals.

While summer (July and August) is popular for holidays, it can be quite warm, and you'll encounter more visitors.
