The best area to stay in Les Taillades is within the village itself for easy access to local amenities and a relaxed, authentic experience.

The village of Les Taillades is compact and sits at the foot of the Luberon mountains. Its main street, Rue de la République, is where you'll find the local bakery, a small grocery shop, and a few restaurants. The prominent feature is the impressive aqueduct, which is a historic landmark and provides a scenic backdrop. The feel is very much that of a traditional Provençal village.

For couples looking for a peaceful escape, staying directly in Les Taillades is perfect. You can enjoy quiet strolls through the narrow streets, dine at local eateries, and easily access walking and cycling routes into the Luberon Regional Natural Park. It offers a genuine taste of rural French life without being isolated.

Families will also find Les Taillades a good base. The village is small enough to navigate easily with children, and there are local parks and play areas. Its central location in the Luberon Valley means you're well-placed for day trips to nearby towns like Gordes or Roussillon, or for exploring the local markets.

The best time to visit Les Taillades is during late spring, from May to June, or in early autumn, particularly September, for pleasant weather and fewer crowds.

May and June offer warm, sunny days great for exploring the Luberon region without the intense summer heat. The lavender fields begin to bloom towards the end of June, making for picturesque scenery, and the local markets are in full swing, brimming with fresh produce.

September is another excellent choice, as the summer crowds have thinned, but the weather remains warm and agreeable. This is an ideal time for outdoor activities like cycling or hiking in the nearby Luberon Natural Regional Park, and the grape harvest season brings a festive atmosphere to the local vineyards.

For those looking for the warmest temperatures and the height of the tourist season, July and August provide abundant sunshine, though the heat can be considerable, and popular sites will be busier.
