Aurora might not have many top sights, but Creamer's Field and Pioneer Park are two attractions nearby that you can check out.

Sven's Basecamp Hostel in Fairbanks has some of the coolest accommodation options--such as this treehouse, a tipi, cabins, wall tent glamping, etc. Sven also has a couple cute dogs and one teeny tiny husky puppy that everyone fought over to hold. Rent canoes here as well. Showers are costly (25 cents per minute!) but only because their water has to be brought in via truck so they try not to use too much too quickly. Wifi available.
