The size and location of Blackway House are great, and we enjoyed the celebrating a birthday there.

The location of Blackway House is great, and it's set in lovely grounds with plenty of outside space. It was ideal for our large group for a weekend, with plenty of sleeping space and a large kitchen diner and two generous living rooms. Given the cost of the property we were disappointed to have to pay extra to check in an hour early and to see that other things like using the outside fire pit also cost extra. Unfortunately the TV didn't work, and using the toaster caused the electrics to short. Some of the crockery and kitchen items were dirty, (mouldy tea pot), unwashed oven dishes etc. We were hosting a party and 17 people stayed the night, so it would have been handy not to have had to wash things first. It also would have been handy to have an extra bin bag and tea towels. Unfortunately we were also a bit disappointed by the showers in the property as none had much in the way of water pressure, and given the price of rental, we'd hoped for something a bit better. The owner met us at check in and showed us around which was helpful. She lives on site and invited us to knock if we needed anything. We did on one occasion, but unfortunately she wasn't available. She later let us know she was unavailable at check out, and gave us details of where to leave keys. In summary the size and location of Blackway House are great, and we enjoyed the weekend there celebrating a birthday.
