The best area to stay in Las Molineras is the area around the Plaza Mayor and the historic centre.

This area is the heart of Las Molineras, characterised by its traditional Andalusian architecture, narrow cobbled streets, and whitewashed buildings. The Plaza Mayor is a central gathering point, often bustling with activity, and you'll find a good selection of quality restaurants and craft shops radiating outwards from it. Key landmarks include the Church of San Juan and the old communal olive mill, which gives the town its name.

For couples seeking a romantic and authentic experience, staying in the historic centre is ideal. You'll be within easy walking distance of intimate tapas bars, artisan boutiques, and the town's most picturesque spots, great for leisurely strolls and enjoying local life. Many hotels in this area offer rooms with balconies overlooking charming streets or courtyards.

Families looking for convenience and a relaxed atmosphere will also find the historic centre appealing. It's easy to navigate on foot, and the central plaza provides a pleasant space for children to enjoy an ice cream while parents relax at a nearby cafe.

The best time to visit Las Molineras, Andalusia, Spain, is during the spring (April to June) and autumn (September to October) months. These periods offer pleasant weather, ideal for exploring, without the intense heat of summer or the cooler, sometimes wetter, winter months.

For those planning an active holiday, such as hiking or cycling, spring is particularly good. The countryside is green and vibrant, and the temperatures are comfortably warm, typically ranging from 20-25°C. This makes walks along the river paths or exploring the olive groves a real pleasure. You'll find fewer crowds compared to the peak summer season, allowing for a more relaxed experience.

Families travelling with children might also find the autumn months more appealing. The sea is still warm enough for swimming until late October, and the temperatures are mild, often around 20-28°C. Many of the local festivals celebrating the harvest take place during this time, offering a glimpse into local traditions.
