Cuevas El Atochal Orígenes

10/10 Excellent
"We rolled up around 9pm and the front office was already closed, but we lucked out by hitting up the staff on WhatsApp. She was super sweet and got us checked in, even though her English wasn't perfect—she tried her best to explain everything and was so helpful. The place is gorgeous and full of traditional charm. If you've got the time, I'd say stay at least two nights to really soak it all in!"

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Las Molineras?
The best area to stay in Las Molineras is the area around the Plaza Mayor and the historic centre. This area is the heart of Las Molineras, characterised by its traditional Andalusian architecture, narrow cobbled streets, and whitewashed buildings. The Plaza Mayor is a central gathering point, often bustling with activity, and you'll find a good selection of quality restaurants and craft shops radiating outwards from it. Key landmarks include the Church of San Juan and the old communal olive mill, which gives the town its name. For couples seeking a romantic and authentic experience, staying in the historic centre is ideal. You'll be within easy walking distance of intimate tapas bars, artisan boutiques, and the town's most picturesque spots, great for leisurely strolls and enjoying local life. Many hotels in this area offer rooms with balconies overlooking charming streets or courtyards.Families looking for convenience and a relaxed atmosphere will also find the historic centre appealing. It's easy to navigate on foot, and the central plaza provides a pleasant space for children to enjoy an ice cream while parents relax at a nearby cafe.
When is the best time to go to Las Molineras?
The best time to visit Las Molineras, Andalusia, Spain, is during the spring (April to June) and autumn (September to October) months. The countryside is green and vibrant, and the temperatures are comfortably warm, typically ranging from 20-25°C. This makes walks along the river paths or exploring the olive groves a real pleasure. You'll find fewer crowds compared to the peak summer season, allowing for a more relaxed experience.Families travelling with children might also find the autumn months more appealing. The sea is still warm enough for swimming until late October, and the temperatures are mild, often around 20-28°C. Many of the local festivals celebrating the harvest take place during this time, offering a glimpse into local traditions.
