#NeedToBreathe cabin sits on a hilltop among an array of tall trees in a gated community located in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains and just minutes from Chimney Rock State Park. A mix of retro, modern, and Scandinavian, the living room is quite spacious and a nice place for social gatherings. There is comfortable space in the kitchen and dining area as well. You will enjoy the large fireplace in the living room and the wooded yet pleasant view offered by the kitchen/dining area and living room.
A highlight of the home is that it boasts four tastefully decorated themed bedrooms, and there is a bathroom between bedrooms one and two and bedrooms three and four, so the layout is great. The back deck is extremely comfortable and nearly perfect. A nature lovers paradise, you're likely to see deer, foxes, and sometimes even bears! You can hear the waterfall inside the resort clearly, and there is also a small yet enjoyable lake view in the fall/winter. Even in the fall/winter, the decks here are quiet and private, so you will definitely notice the privacyin the summer.
Clever words of wisdom are placed tastefully throughout the home. All hard surface flooring will give you that super clean feel no matter how long you stay. Overall, the extremely tastefully decorated #NeedToBreathe is sure to be a favorite for your annual vacation to Lake Lure. It's an older home that has been well-maintained and creatively updated.
As a unique camp-house experience, the washer and dryer are located in the lower level garage and accessible through a separate door from the exterior of the home.
The propane grill is on the back porch, where there are two chairs, a table for hors d'oeuvres or drinks, and a relatively flat and private backyard. There is easy parking for three vehicles, but depending on your vehicle size, 4 would likely fit. Located in the quiet yet fun community, Lake Lure Village Resort offers a private marina at only a 5-10 minute walk from #NeedToBreathe.
This home is 3.3 miles to the Beach at Lake Lure, 3.4 miles to Chimney Rock State Park, and 21.7 miles to the Tryon International Equestrian Center (TIEC).

The house was clean and spacious. The views were amazing!! Best sunset views! Our family had a great time! Unfortunately, the tvs were hard to connect to wifi, and the lighting outside wasn't good, on the front side it was completely dark once the motion light went off..
Overall we had a great time and will return and and send referrals!
Only problem was we had in correct gate code, luckily a resident came buy and gave it to us.
Otherwise we had a good stay and enjoyed Lake Lure and Chimney Rock NC.
Renting this property was very easy. The Directions led me straight to the home. We had to call property management because the heat went out, but they got someone out as soon as possible. The cleanliness of the home however could’ve been a little better. It was supposed to be a zero tolerance pet policy, However, we clearly saw that there was pet hair all over the living room couch. I’m not a big fan of animals so it was quite upsetting to see. Overall, it was an okay rental.
First off, the photos do not do this property justice. The home is more beautiful than the photos indicate. Something we really enjoyed about the home was the layout. You enter into a big, open kitchen-living room, and there are two bedrooms with a Jack & Jill bedroom separating each on both sides. We found this to be absolutely great for traveling with family. Being that the leaves had fallen from the trees, we had a peak of a lake view which was another pleasant surprise!
We’ve lost count of how many times we’ve visited the area but have never stayed on this side of the lake. There are numerous restaurants within 10-15 to choose from; the new smokehouse in Chimney Rock was our favorite. Highland Kitchen and Bar is a little bit further but another repeat favorite of ours. Highly recommend both if you’re looking to dine out. Ingles (grocery store) is about 15 minutes away which was helpful when we needed a pharmacy.
Now, some things we didn’t enjoy. We pulled up to the community realizing we needed a gate code to enter but hadn’t been provided one; I looked back through all my emails and couldn’t locate it anywhere, only the front door code. We got lucky and a friendly resident helped us and even showed us where the house was. The community was wonderful, everyone we encountered was extremely friendly, though a bit off the beaten track. On Thanksgiving morning, we woke up to the oven not working when we tried to make breakfast. Later that day, we found a chunk of broken glass on the rug by the couch which could have done some damage to someone’s feet. Everything appeared to be clean but it made you wonder.
Really enjoyed the house and it was a relaxing getaway from the hustle and bustle of the day-to-day. I would definitely recommend checking out this place if you're looking for a nice, relaxing, quiet getaway in the mountains.
Nice Property, couple of minor maintainence issues
Second year at this property. Senior group of 2 couples and 2 singles, come every Labor Day for the N.C. Apple Festival. last year no problems, this year 2 minor problems. Pantry door was broken and laying inside the pantry, and a couple of the front porch columns (front porch is actually on 2nd floor) were rotted and need to be replaced. Property management was notified of same.
The property was exactly how it appeared on the website with no surprises. It was clean, in a great location and provided our family with a great place to stay.
The house location and setup was fine, issues opening the door, didn't realize it was back door only. didn't have code to utilize laundry. The bedroom closest to kitchen had issues. (fleas or bedbugs) the towels in that bathroom did not smell clean. Area was quiet and peaceful.
