"This was a wonderful place to stay! My room was very clean and comfortable. The communal kitchen and dining room were well-stocked and welcoming. I will definitely stay here again when I'm in the area."
"This was a fun and interesting place to stay. There wasn’t any staff there, so it was private. Down side of that, was we didn’t have clean linens or restock of coffee etc. We would have liked to play darts, but there weren’t any darts. We played pool for a while, but didn’t have any chalk. The records and player were great upstairs. With it being an older building, the floor was very creaky.
We enjoyed our stay and had a wonderful time!"
Contemporary all new, entire home perfect for a luxury getaway
10/10 Excellent
"The house and property are exceptional. Host was gracious and timely with communication. The kitchen had everything we needed for daily meal prep. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Don’t hesitate to book this home."
"When I made my reservation, I was NOT told that I would be staying in a different building ACROSS THE STREET AND UP THE WOODEN STAIRS! I’m a 71 yr old woman traveling alone. The MAIN hotel lobby had ice water, cookies, a reading room and sunroom. However, I was across the street and upstairs (no elevator) with sciatic pain from the long drive. The young man, who stayed on his cell phone, opened the door, pointed across the street, and said, “Your room is over there.”
I called the front desk, later, to ask about check out, as I would be leaving early the next morning. I asked if I could leave my key in the room. The same young man replied, “You just come back over here and drop your key in a lock box on the desk. This building is open all night.” When I awoke at 5am, it was very dark, and I didn’t feel safe walking into a building that had been open all night. I hid my key in the room, and called them later in the morning to tell them where it was."
"Great communication for check in. Very roomy, large comfy bed, two great recliners and a small TV. There was a small fridge, microwave and coffee pot. Book explaining everything and places of interest and dining nearby. One fire log provided.
Restaurants were within walking distance, but not many breakfast options. Market close by had sandwiches and burritos and opens at 7 am. Lowe’s across the street also had some options and their prices for the area were reasonable.
No stoppers for the sink or tub, but a cap from a medicine bottle worked well lol.
Would definitely stay again if we were in the area.
Visited the nearby fort and a national parks pass covers entry. Then went up to the Black Bear for lunch. You can get a TX national park pass for there which gives you half off.
22 minutes to McDonald Observatory but unfortunately our Star party was cancelled due to cloud cover."
