Ideally located in a 2-unit building just 2 blocks from the famous Windansea Beach in La Jolla, this classic gem of a beach home is a quick walk to the beach to swim, surf, sunbathe, and explore the tide pools.
Experience La Jolla like the locals do in a quiet residential street of quaint homes and beach cottages.
The Space:
Enter the locked gate and find yourself in a cozy tropically landscaped private front yard with a table for 6 and an outdoor barbeque, making it a perfect place to enjoy morning coffee or a leisurely lunch or dinner after a day at the beach or visiting nearby attractions.
Open the front door and find yourself in a great room surrounded by an upbeat beach décor with white, turquoise, grey and brown color scheme and seashore themed accents. The feeling of this home will lift your spirits and make you glad it is your temporary home away from home.
In the living room you will find a comfy sectional and a large flat screen TV with cable making it easy to relax, unwind and enjoy.
Adjacent to the living room is the kitchen with breakfast bar that seats 3 in the kitchen so the chef can enjoy everyone without missing a beat.
The spacious master bedroom has a king bed, ample closet space, flat screen TV, and a private ensuite bathroom with walk-in shower and separate soaking tub.
Just outside the master bedroom you will find a large deck equipped with an outside sectional. Enjoy the sea breeze in the morning or a glass of wine in the evening.
The second bedroom offers a queen bed and a twin “CordaRoy” bean bag that converts into a twin bed. This is a perfect place to curl up and read a book or take a nap.
This home has off-street street parking in a 2 car garage, Wi-Fi and cable, and a washer and dryer.

Very comfortable and well-appointed unit in a perfect location for enjoying La Jolla. Especially good if you like to walk and just leave your car in the garage - a great plus. Excellent communication with rental management.
We enjoyed our stay near Windansea Beach. Our place was clean and cool enough, even in August.
The kitchen, along with basics like toilet paper, were a bit bare-bones stocked, but we planned for that. There was barely enough cutlery and plates, along with meal-making equipment, but we brought enough mixing bowls and serving spoons to get by.
Our beds were comfortable, the kitchen adequate and there were several floor fans available. Enjoyable stay.
Loved the property and location! Tight with 5 people but the management responded really well and actually went out and bought us a queen size air mattress to use for the 5th person. The advertised cot did not fit our 13 year old. Appreciate the way they made it right and I would definitely rent from them again.
We loved our stay here! Location was within a short walk down to the beach and not far from downtown San Diego. Loved all the restaurants ans stores close by. House was big with lots of space to spread out upstairs.

House is great. Lots of nice touches like the retractable awning for western sun. Air vents by the main doors. Location is wonderful. Management staff, hard-working and responsive - even on weekends. Not so sure about the ownership though. Access to private laundry is one of the big reasons we like VRBO's instead of hotels. Clothes washer broke, basically useless for over half a trip. Things happen, we understand. Management staff worked hard to help. Ultimately owners insisted on still charging us full price. No discounts for missing services. Essentially saying: "You get what you get, the product advertised is not the product we guarantee on delivering." This seems quite strange to us hence the three star review.

Property
The property needs some TLC. Simple things like light bulbs, broken lamp, place needs a deep cleaning. The parking is good but could not put two cars in driveway or get to the garage easily for second car due to neighbors parking as far over as they could and made it impossible to get two cars without moving cars in and out of driveway. Other then that it is in a great location.
Great property, ideally located for main attractions in and around San Diego.
Property is spacious and has everything you need. The only comment I would make is there is no air con and it was really warm. There are lots of fans and ceiling fans but they are noisy at night. We did open the windows which have screens on them but there is a water fountain next door which you can hear!!!
This was a great location. The house was pretty clean other than stains on the bedroom comforter and the fridge was dirty. Definitely need to bring ALL your own supplies. No cleaning spray to even wipe down the counters. There was a heat wave at the end of our stay and they only have 2 floor fans for the whole house. It got to 93 degrees upstairs in the house and we were forced to leave early because it was so miserable. They do advertise no A/C and most times it’s prob not an issue. Obviously they have no control over the weather, but it was disappointing that management had no options for us or even offered to bring another fan. Basically told me there is nothing they can do and didn’t appear bothered that we were forced to leave early.
Wil always rent homes with A/C In the future.

For the price I expect certain amenities, wire whisk, metal bowl, you can't whip eggs in plastic !! a proper BBQ, napkins clean pots and pans, toss those metal pans in the lower drawer.
Screen in smaller bedroom would not close, silverfish on walls.
Good location & safe. Walk to beach is close & beautiful. Pretty clean but no frills. Bbq & windows very dirty. Furniture downstairs dated and worn. Needs more seating. Walls are banged up. With attention to details could be nice!
The house was clean, well cared for and comfortable for our family of four adults and two dogs. The outdoor garden area with dining table and lights is private and enclosed, a great convenience. The two bedrooms and bathrooms are large, beds comfortable. A problem with plumbing was attended to right away with little inconvenience.
We would have liked better flatware; some pieces broken and too few spoons. We had to supply salt, napkins, dishwasher detergent which we left for future renters. Everything was as advertised and we loved it!
Great place to stay for the week near the beach. Adorable side yard perfect for out little dog. Having a garage was a definite perk as well. Would highly recommend and definitely stay there again!
This was our second time staying here and we just love it. It's perfect for our two small dogs. The enclosed courtyard area allows us to open the doors and get a breeze while letting the dogs go in and out as they wish. Walking distance to the beach. Quiet. Loved it!
Cute little house that is half of a duplex. The small side yard was great for meals and coffee, and for our dogs to stretch their legs. The neighborhood was quiet during our visit, which we liked.
Our family enjoyed our stay at Driftwood in La Jolla! The location was great-only 3 blocks from the Windnsea beach, conveniently located near a handful of restaurants, and quiet and subdued neighborhood just like we like.
