A 10 minute walk to the north takes you to Shijo Street, where all the major departmental stores are located, such as Takashimaya, Daimaru and OIOI.

Gion, the most famous geisha district of Kyoto, is located just to the east of Shijo, allowing you to carry out both shopping and sightseeing with ease.

Kiyomizu Dera, the most important temple in Kyoto and a UNESCO World Heritage site, is a 15 minutes walk away

From Kyoto Station, TAKEYA Gojo East is only 1 stop away on the Karasuma subway line. You can also catch a taxi, which will only take 5 minutes or so.
