Hidden Gem at beautiful Bingil Bay - Peace and tranquility - Air conditioning
10/10 Excellent
"We absolutely loved our stay at this beautiful Bingil Bay property! From the moment we arrived (late, mind you), the lights were on for us so we didn't have to navigate in the dark - we were struck by how thoughtfully styled and welcoming the space was.Bingil Bay has a much quieter, tranquil atmosphere compared to down the road at Mission Beach, which was exactly what we needed.Viv and Mick have clearly put so much care into creating a wonderful guest experience. We were delighted to find breakfast provisions and milk waiting for us, which was incredibly thoughtful and practical since we checked in much later than planned. These little touches made all the difference and showed real attention to guest comfort. When we had an issue with some lights, Mick arrived within moments to sort it out for us.The location is also ideal - just around the corner (seriously like a 1 min walk) to Bingil Bay Cafe where we enjoyed excellent coffees and delicious meals throughout our stay. The proximity to the beach was also within easy walking distance. Our daughter was thrilled with the selection of board games available, which provided lovely family entertainment in the evenings. The property truly had everything we needed for a comfortable and enjoyable stay.We wouldn't hesitate to return and highly recommend it to anyone seeking a peaceful coastal retreat.Thank you for such a memorable stay!"
"Fern House is beautiful house set in lush rainforest. Everything we could possibly want was there. We spent a lot of time just hanging out on the extensive balcony, and our boys loved the upstairs retreat area with its musical instruments. It was lovely to hear the array of wildlife sounds at night! The only thing to point out for those traveling in winter is that the pool is now covered so receives basically no sunlight, and as a result was freezing - a bit disappointing as we were hoping to use it."
"Best hostel I’ve stayed at in Australia! Staff are incredible (especially Sarah). Location is stunning - it’s remote but gorgeous. I would -*highly* recommend a couple of nights here on your East Coast travels and certainly better than staying in Mission Beach which is full of construction. Despite being so remote, the prices at the cafe are very reasonable and the food and drinks are great quality. Spacious rooms, lovely communal areas, good bathrooms. I absolutely loved it here and would definitely return if I found myself in the area again. Wonderful experience and great memories made. I will be shouting about this place forever!! "
"We recently spent 3 nights at this property and we absolutely loved it. 10/10.The house was perfect for us, An older style home, so full of character, the vibe was so chilled and peaceful. It was very clean, and very organised, with everything you need, but no extra clutter. The property is fully fenced, so our dog was safe and happy. The location is amazing, so close to the beach, and a short distance to great boat ramps. The walk along the beach front in the morning was glorious, and the short stroll to the King Reef pub in the evening was beautiful. We definitely recommend this property, and hope we get to go back one day."
