We are fans of hot spring and have to say the difference about this in room onsen is the authentic feel, stunning mt fuji mountain backdrop, aesthetically design comfort and the winter weather makes the difference. Our dinner is served in room. We stayed for 2 nights and they made effort to check on our dietary preference in advance. We don’t take beef and they take pain to ensure this is not included even in soup stock. They also made efforts to provide and plate different dishes each night. We are Glad we didn’t plan a lot of activities as this is one spa you want to stay in. You can do nothing or partake in their varied activities such as drum performance, bingo, tea in the garden and piano performance in lounge. We left feeling refreshed and happy.
Not tattoo friendly! The hotel was really nice, check-in was smooth and the Taiko show was really good. My wife and daughter really enjoyed the hotel public onsen but I was forced to stick to my room bath since the hotel does not permit tattoos in the public onsen. The room dinner was really nice as well as the breakfast. I feel the tattoo rule should be stated here on the hotel information instead of letting me know after booking. I would recommend this place but I would never stay here again until they come to the modern ages where everyone with tattoos are not automatically criminals.
There is nothing I can fault about this beautiful property. We had a room with a private onsen overlooking Mt Fuji and it was SPECTACULAR! We also had the traditional dinner twice, in our room (9 courses of beautiful Japanese food). Breakfast is great - amazing choices (Western food & Japanese). We got to wear yukatas and the amenities provided were high quality (shampoo, hair accessories, etc). The hotel is huge and has some small shops, a couple of bars and we even got access to a lounge with massage chairs. We treated ourselves to a massage which was great too. Every night there is a drumming show followed by bingo with awesome prices. The gardens are so well kept (it was beautiful and had snowed when we were there). If I could live there - I would!
