Great hotel, a luxury feel at an affordable price. Great views overlooking the city skyline at night and 3 great restaurants within. Staff were very helpful and made our stay easy. I would absolutely book this hotel again.

Beautiful hotel and steps away from the train station but fear not - you will not notice. Take a close look at Google Maps when you depart Kyoto Station and you will see an alley that you can walk through to put you on the street with the hotel. We made the mistake of walking across the street then doubling back when in fact you could make the trek in no time. Staff is incredibly helpful and the breakfast buffet is pretty good. My daughters stayed in the Japanese Suite and I was in a standard king. No complaints about either room. Very easy to get a cab or Uber at the hotel or of course walk back to the train station.

Our 4-night stay at Soraniwa was absolutely perfect. The staff is friendly, helpful, and extremely professional. Our room was as beautiful as it was comfortable, and the fit and finish of the room was remarkable. Loved the sheets and pillows, the silk pajamas they provided and all the extra amenities. Our room had a private onsen, and the onsite onsen was pure luxury. The hotel is located near everything you need for entertainment and dining. Our stay was one of my favorites ever, and we travel often. I would not hesitate to stay at Soraniwa again.
