Room is clean. Staff is nice. Breakfast was really bad. Bad variety, everything was already cold by 9PM (breakfast is from 07:30 to 10:30). When I asked for more cold cuts about 10PM, they did not bring more. Overall, good hotel, nice location, but I don‘t think it is worth the money.

Beautiful hotel with incredible views and amazing infinitypool. The staff is very attentive and kind! The hotel provides everything your need, they offer a free pickup from the pier and it's possible to rent a scooter directly at the hotel. Very good located, so you can reach everything easy by scooter.

Very nice staff and spacious rooms. The pool and restaurant area is also beautiful with a hilltop view. The hotel provides transportation and rental scooters, but there is nowhere to walk nearby, so if you’re looking for a more central location this is not the place. However, it is a great private and comfortable hotel, and the food and drinks are delicious.

Amazing stay. We were picked up by the free shuttle service and received welcome drinks. The views are stunning! The room was immaculate. The pool & rooftop bar was amazing. Prices of food & drink are a bit expensive but the massaman curry was gorgeous. We paid £11 for breakfast for 2 and it was a 3 course meal! It really good value and loads of delicious food - should have been £9 each so I would recommend booking on hotels.com. The staff were so friendly too! I live on Samui so we will definitely be returning and recommending to our friends.

Nice property, not too far from the beach. Food in restaurant where the food took a while to appear, but always tasted good. They need a lot more shade/umbrellas on the rooftop pool (has ample space). The buffet Breakfast was very small for the price they charge and the a la carte menu was very limited. Luckily there plenty of amazing breakfast options around Phanghan.

This hotel is amazing, the staff are so friendly and helpful. Chris the receptionist was always happy to help and very professional and provided great information and taxis to wherever we wanted to go. The rooms were immaculate and the shower and products were lovely. The views from the pool were gorgeous! We done a floating breakfast on our last morning and again it was very tasty and a nice way to enjoy the pool views and get some nice photos!! gorgeous sunset from the restraunt also! 10/10, can't wait to come back in the future! Big thanks to all the staff who made our stay so enjoyable!

This place is unbelievable, one of the best hotels I've ever stayed in. The service is incredible, all the staff are very attentive, welcoming and work hard to make your stay perfect. The food and drinks are great, breakfast is very tasty with a great selection. The whole place is well styled, you feel like a Bond villain. It's well located, you feel like you are in the middle of the jungle but with a moped (which you can rent from reception) you can easily and quickly get to beaches, restaurants etc. You can easily spend loads of time here, the views are 10/10, and the rooftop pool is a great place to chill, especially with happy hour drinks! We made the mistake of only booking this place for a few nights as we wanted to try a different part of the island, it turned out to be a disaster with our booked hotel being nothing like the photos. We went back to Varivana ASAP, they welcomed us back and were very accommodating. Overall we'd highly recommend this hotel and we will be back when we're next in Thailand! The only thing I'd say to improve the experience would be to add some music around the pool and bar, particularly at sunset to add to the atmosphere. Some deep/tropical/chill house music would be amazing.

Disappointing! Lots to improve- including attitude

Family vacation, rooms (we had 2) weren’t ready on time of check in, we had to wait 1.5 hoirs at the top bar. We got coupon for “free drink” - I would expect much more than that. We ordered fruit shake but there was no Bananas and no mango so not really enough options. We were completely unsatisfied. When we finally got our rooms it was in the lowest floor ( we ordered”mountain view” rooms so it is quite ironic as we were literally 1 meter above the ground. Additionally, the stair railing outside the rooms were just being painted while we checked in and there was a pungent smell of fresh oil-based paint. I was also extremely mad as I specifically asked for two adjacent rooms , however each one was on a different floor level. Overall when I complained the manager in charge just said he is very sorry and offered 20% discounts at the hotel restaurant- I didn’t know whether to cry or laugh! Breakfast was somewhat lacking. The buffet was poor, not enough tables in the dining hall, slow service. There is definitely lots to improve! Nice architecture- somewhat weird and clumsy though! Reminds me of the board game Snakes and Ladders. Only one elevator (4 buildings) and long climb and walk to the pool- which luckily is fantastic so it made our all stay enjoyable after all. Missing full size mirror in the rooms.

Fantastiskt hotell med infinity pool på taket. Restaurangen var suverän med stort utbud av maträtter. Frukostserveringen som också sker i restaurangen på takterrassen har ett stort utbud med olika juicer, frukter och varma rätter. Rummet var väldigt bekvämt med stora fönster från golv till tak och en egen balkong med utsikt över djungeln. En annan sak jag gillade var det stora badrummet med den stora duschen. Vi stannade två nätter och jag önskar nästan att vi hade någon natt till för att kunna fortsätta njuta av rummet och resten av hotellet.

Unser Aufenthalt war wieder sehr gut, man fühlt sich sehr wohl. Das Hotel bietet einen Taxiservice an, den wir jeden Tag benutzt haben. Es ist zwar bisschen teurer geworden als noch vor einem Jahr, aber es ist okay. Die Mitarbeiter sind extrem nett und das ist ein sehr wichtiger Punkt. Bei meinem nächsten Besuch werde ich wieder dieses Hotel besuchen. Top!

Wonderful hotel in a fabulous location

Great hotel in a wonderful location with friendly staff who wanted your stay to be pleasant even in difficult times. The room was fabulous and the view was sensational. You need a bike to get around but the staff were so helpful in ensuring things were easy to book. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anybody staying on this beautiful island

Varivana Resort = Amazing!

From start to finish, Varivana doesn't disappoint at all. The pool has amazing views and the pictures don't do it justice. The service was absolutely incredible! Dada, the general manager, and her crew went out of their way to give excellent service. They offer free bicycles to visit the beautiful surrounding area. The room was very comfortable and clean. The shower was great. The hotel opened just 6 months ago and they deserve to succeed greatly. I would very very much recommend! Thank you:)
